I've seen true blue hand-of-God-miraculous-seeming-life-transformations. I'm sure they happen sometimes.
But I've seen a lot more that are more like the old joke about the guy in the flood who keeps turning down boats.

I also am irritated by people who say that God saved someone, and who don't count the hours of work by doctors, nurses, anesthesiologists, researchers and blood banks.

It's nice to see some brave pretenders trying to make it interesting.
Along these lines.... I have potentially good news. The doctors have switched gears a little, and instead of thinking it's a tumor they are now considering Infectious Disease. This may be awesome, but I've watched too many episodes of House and my dad has traveled ALL over the world... so easily treated Infectious Disease ma is still appreciated.

Oh, meara...that shock is awe-ful. Ugh. Oddly enough, I just came home from teaching a class, during which, I told the story of the one time I was fired. And, how it ended up being a great thing for me. May it be even more so for you.
