Did you do that?
Me? No, of course not.

'Lineage'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

And Aimee, I think you can say that you don't want to go, but you need benefits for the good of you family.
Yes, this. This is an entirely appropriate reason to go somewhere else, and he has to recognize that. You have a family. He declined to give you benefits (unless it came out of your pay, correct?)
I know it's hard and I am just trying to bolster your feelings of polite righteousness instead of embarassment for, you know, wanting health insurance for your family including a small child. Also more money.
As beth says, you ain't just doing it for the lulz.
I'm having a bad missing Mr. Jane day. On the one hand, the house has stayed clean. I made a casserole last night that will last at least until he gets back.
However, there's a lot of stuff that's just easier when he's around: walking the dogs, dumping the dishwasher bucket, lighting the pilot on the oven, deciding what to have for dinner. I go to bed alone often because of his work hours, but usually we at least have Friday, Saturday and Wednesday.
Last night he left me a message when he got in. Sounded like he was about to cry. He said he was having a good time there but reaaaaaly misses me.
Aims, just say "I've really enjoyed working here, and I feel that we have a good relationship, so I can talk to you about this. I've been offered a job that includes benefits, which my family needs. I'm sorry to leave you in the lurch, but I have to go with the job that offers benefits included in the salary" Make it about the benefits, not him.
Aw, I'm sorry Daisy Jane.
Also, Aimee, I hope my pep talks come across as... well, pep talks and not me being obnoxious and overbearing. Stupid Mondays, messing with my subtle tone techniques!
Vortex! How was your move this weekend?
I didn't actually move. the saga continues, and I still haven't closed. Maybe tomorrow. I've gotten very zen about it at this point. Except yesterday morning when I woke up stared at my old celing and thought "I'm not supposed to be here". Luckily, my current landlord was cool about me extending.
Egad, Vortex.
Nora, you are, as always, supportive and wonderful and even if you were to post, 'Stupid bitch, take the job and shut the fuck up." I would still read it with the hug implied.
And thank you Vortex, that helps so much to have a somewhat script.
And thanks to All of my Bitches for being so, well, Bitch-like. {{{LOVE}}}
nd even if you were to post, 'Stupid bitch, take the job and shut the fuck up." I would still read it with the hug implied.
As if. Hey, if we were at Teppy's brother's bar, I could order you a tall glass of "Shut the Hell Up" [link] and then give you a hug in person. Hm. let's do that!
Argh. A good friend of mine has her thesis defense today. Last week, she asked if I was going to come. I said, "If you want me there, I'll be there." (For this kind of thing, some people like all the moral support they can get, while other get more nervous if there are more people, so we generally go with the "I'll be there if you want me there" thing.) She told me to be there.
I just overslept. I am a horrible friend.
