And don't you ever stand for that sort of thing. Someone ever tries to kill you, you try to kill 'em right back! ... You got the right same as anyone to live and try to kill people.

Spike's Bitches 36: Did I Sully Our Good Name?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Sticking my head in the door to say...

It's either this or continue work on the crackaddled DA/SPN crossover I jokingly started.

It's Ackles Overload! I'm so intrigued by this! Whee!

I look more rad than Lutheranism

More Sylvian

I keep seeing Sybian here, and that's kind of a different thing.

What is even happening?

I think Jilli's only recourse is a pharmaceutical one, because any other bribe or rationale just isn't up to the task of breaking the cycle of panic she can descend into.
Pete, this was my experience. I suspect if I'd treated my occasional panic and almost-panic attacks sooner, my panic might not have developed into a full-blown panic disorder. After a while, panic attacks become their own trigger, that is -- fear of having one can push a person over the edge into having one.

Jilli, if you have any more questions you want to ask, please feel free, either here or e-mail is good (but I've been a big skipper and skimmer, lately).

Okay, now I want to talk about 80s vids.

Oh again! I loved Van Halen's video for "Jump," but I think that might have been 90s, too. It was Sammy Hagar, not Dave ... I can't believe I'm blanking on his last name.

Amy, Jump isn't Hagar. It's still David Lee Roth era Van Halen. You just lost some massive 80s cred there, girlie.

I think Cashmere's right about Total Eclipse of the Heart being the iconic 80s video. The only challenger I can think of is Pat Benetar's Love is a Battlefield, and Duran Duran's Hungry Like the Wolf. These were all so big, and overblown, like the 80s themselves.

Of course then there was Michael Jackson's Thriller, which deserves a category of its own. Honorable mentions should go to Cyndi Lauper's Girls Just Want to Have Fun, Madonna's Like a Virgin, ZZ Top's Legs, Peter Gabriel's Sledge Hammer, Human League's Don't You Want Me, Baby?, Culture Club's I'll Tumble 4 Ya, and Robert Palmer's Addicted to Love, because they were each so new in their own way.

That said, none of those were my favorites and (confession) Duran Duran never really did it for me. I had a big thing for Stevie Nicks, Fleetwood Mac, and of course, Band Aid's Do They Know It's Christmas. Asia, Loverboy, and the Go-Go's always mean MTV to me, and I can't hear Def Leppard without seeing their vids in my mind.

My favorite vid was April Wine's Just Between You and Me though, and it was just a plain concert (or concert style) vid. *sigh*

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Librarian Warlord

Yay for new homeownership, Vortex!

I am 300+ messages behind here, after a long weekend at the beach with Sox and family. Just so we're all clear: Sox's daughter owns all the holes on the beach. Hers. All hers. Must not dare to jump into a hole, or risk the wrath of a cute two year old.

We also scored a $100 linen suit for my DH in the outlets, so he will melt more slowly when he goes to job interviews than he would in wool.

Happy Belated Birthday to Teppy!

Much ~ma to Anne and family.

{{}} Brackets for those that need 'em. I have no clue as to when I'll catch up, since it is a short week for me here because we're leaving on Friday for Williamsburg with friends visiting from CA.

Trust my rage

Yay, Vortex!

Timlies everyone else! I've been extra lurky lately so I thought I'd just say hi.

Our wings are not tired

My brain is screaming that it's only 6:30, yet I've been at work for over an hour. This is not right. At least I have coffee.

Mostly lurking...

You people are funny.

In completely unrelated news, the quilt is up to $202.50! YAY! Unfortunately, this means I can no longer see who the high bidder is. I WANT TO KNOW!

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

This is why I love spending time on the west coast--my ordinary circadian rhythm is right, for a change. I'm sorry it's working in reverse for you, ND.

What are they going to do about the windows, Vortex? Were they properly apologetic? Was this a structural change they made without informing you? How crucial a matter is it--a dealbreaker on the house? A matter of a lower price for you?

I'd just like to announce that this morning and this morning only? I hate boys. Everybody in my house (except my mom, and she sort of doesn't count) is male but me. And they're all pissing me off. Mainly by being male, and, you know, breathing. Three generations of them, plus the cat. Gerroff my lawn.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Oof. Even the cat's male? That's rough.

It's Ackles Overload! I'm so intrigued by this! Whee!

Heh. It's Dean/Joshua.

Probably best to Not Ask.

Gronk. Need coffee.
