Experimental TV: Comedy

This thread is part of an experiment to determine Buffistas' interest in television discussion. It will close on June 1st, 2007, after which there will be a brief skirmish to sort out what we want to do next. This thread is for discussion of all comedy, regardless of airing station. [NAFDA]

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Really? I loved Drinky Crow and the whale was excellent. Emmett declared it "Very disturbing." Then again, I'm a big fan of the comic Maakies.

It didn't appeal to me at all...if it gets picked up, Bob has been asked to pitch for it, so I hope I figure it out before then.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

It didn't appeal to me at all...

Really? (again) Because it doesn't seem that far away from Sealab in the outrageousness of its humor and it also has a nautical theme.

Did you ever read the comic?

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

Of course, they told me before the scene aired, but still.

Yeah, that was not great timing.

Regarding HIMYM, I've heard unfortunate rumors that it might not get picked up for another season -- its numbers aren't terrible, but apparently one of the new higher-ups at CBS just doesn't like the show and wants it off the air. I guess we'll know tomorrow after CBS upfronts.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

The Futon Critic has it on the list as an undetermined fate for the next season.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

WHAT?!?!? Who do we send the... suits? telephone booths? dogs? ... to??

Art Crawl!!!

I've heard the HIMYM is on the bubble too. CBS upfronts are tomorrow. Perhaps we'll hear leaked information before then.

Heh -- somehow, I don't think a lack of suits is the problem. We should send blue French horns!

Ankh-Morpork Watchman, Dreamer, Scooby, Minister of Grace, Still Flyin' in a Zoo2 World

The leaked info I've heard so far have HIMYM returning to the 8pm timeslot. Really, it seems all the rumors about HIMYM being on the bubble originated with one columnist and just spread like crazy from there. Nobody else, as far as I can tell, has talked about the "bubble"ness independently.

We'll find out tomorrow for sure.

Speaking of blue French horns, one awesome continuity bit that was pointed out: in Showdown, the blue French horn is indeed gone from Robin's apartment.
