Oh SA, you should definitely give it a try. It takes a few episodes for a lot of people to get into the humour, I think. But it's oh so worth it.
God help me for getting something *new* to watch, but I'll give it a try.

Also, my friends had a sort of an Office zine sent to their book store the other day. It's evidently all illustrations. They wouldn't describe it more than that saying I had to see to understand. I have it waiting for me to have when I go into work on Saturday.
I'd rail about the few TV programs that I want to watch each week being scheduled opposite each other (Supernatural and Scrubs tonight), but I also had that problem Monday nights at 7pm and I'm NOT happy with how Fox resolved the conflict.

Alec Baldwin said during a taped interview for The View due to air on Friday that he wants to leave acting and spend the next three to five years of his life focusing on the issues of divorce in general and his own divorce (from Kim Basinger) in particular. NBC immediately issued a statement suggesting that it had no intention of allowing Baldwin to quit 30 Rock, the sitcom in which he stars. "Alec Baldwin remains an important part of 30 Rock," the network's statement said. "We look forward to having him continue his role in the show." During The View interview Baldwin also apologized to his 11-year-old daughter for a message he left on her answering machine -- that was later leaked to the press -- in which he hurled insults at her for missing his call.
The Office:
I thought it was a reasonably funny, if not stellar episode, and the last big with Dwight-as-Jim had me on the FLOOR. The messenger bag! His HAIR! "Blah blah blah.... some comment"! His looks to the camera!
I was also glad to see S2-ish Jim, being decent to Andy when he's down in the dumps. Aw.
Where have I seen that actress who played Barbara Allen before? She looked v. familiar.
I loved the opening and ending of The Office. Jim's impersonation was dead on.

I love Kelly. I would hate her in real life, but she's adorable as a television character.
Ahahahaha! The impersonations were great, and I loved seeing Dwight getting back at Jim.

Yes. This was the episode I've been waiting for all season. And by that I mean, after every episode that blew my mind or left me completely useless on account of all the squee, I figured we'd get one of these. It seems to me that when I was trying to post about The Office in my LJ, each week's post contained a statement something along the lines of, "I didn't think it could get any better than last's weeks, and now it did. Oh show!" This one was only a fully decent episode. I was shocked by how ordinary-good it was.
The beginning and the end killed me dead, though. It was the Michael stuff (again) that left me unimpressed. This time though, I don't think it was a failure to reign Carell in. The writing just wasn't that funny. I did appreciate the unhappy customer refusing to care that Michael was sorry, though. That seemed remniscent of early episodes, where everything is just awkward.
I thought Angela's attempts at Customer Service were the best part after the Jim-as-Dwight and Dwight-as-Jim stuff. The Dwight-as-Jim stuff was the best, but JK's Jim-as-Dwight did impress me. I expect RW to be able to do that sort of stuff, but JK was really excellent as Dwight, too.
You know, I think "unimpressed" is too strong of a word up there. My main point was -- last night's episode was a normally good episode of a good comedy, instead of something that left me full of glee and/or aching (the best episodes of The Office do both).
