Everything looks good from here... Yes. Yes, this is a fertile land, and we will thrive. We will rule over all this land, and we will call it... 'This Land.' I think we should call it 'your grave!' Ah, curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal! Ha ha HA! Mine is an evil laugh! Now die! Oh, no, God! Oh, dear God in heaven!

Experimental TV: Comedy

This thread is part of an experiment to determine Buffistas' interest in television discussion. It will close on June 1st, 2007, after which there will be a brief skirmish to sort out what we want to do next. This thread is for discussion of all comedy, regardless of airing station. [NAFDA]

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I can't contribute to UK/US The Office-off meaningfully, since I've only seen snippets of the UK version, but that last bit of "Casino Night" was pretty much the highlight of my entire TV viewing experience (and I watch A LOT of TV) last year. It kills me, especially in knowledge about all the fallouts of that gesture this season.

In many things and in many ways, I am vonnie. (Actually, not to sound like a stalker, but I have learned through the years that if Vonnie likes something, I probably will too. Even if it is imperfect Dawson's Creek fanfic.)

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Even if it is imperfect Dawson's Creek fanfic.

Hahaha, OMG. I can't believe you brought up my shameful Creek fic reading period. *hides face* I still have most of seasons 1-4 on tape, which I can't bring myself to throw out since they changed the music on so many of the episodes. Like any song other than "Both Sides Now" would work for that montage at the end of "A Weekend In The Country". What travesty!

Err. Anyway.

I have a deep and abiding (yet shameful) love of Dawson's Creek. I think maybe it is really a) a love of Pacey, who is a wonderful character and b) a love of what the show's potential was.

I am really glad I bought the separate DVD of the finale, because there is a lot of original music in there.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm finally watching Colbert's Metaphor-off, and it's hilarious! Pinsky is the best part! Question: Was Colbert making the beep-boop noises live?

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Pinsky is the best part!
Metaphorical buzzers!

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

HIMYM is repeating "Slap Bet" tonight. I will be taping because I totally missed it last time.

Thanks for posting this because I have been hearing all about this episode.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

Question: Was Colbert making the beep-boop noises live?

I think he was, because he was very deliberately never on camera when they were happening.

I was so dreading the metaphor-off, and it was awesome! I should know to trust The Colbert, but sometimes even my faith can waver. The metaphorical buzzers made my week.

"Slap Bet" is comedy genius. Love that ep.

Yeah, that's what made me think it. Well, I wondered, and then tried to see him, and since he wasn't on camera, I figured it must be.

YAY Slap Bet! Was the New York Observer article on HIMYM linked here? [link]
