Yeah, I could do that, but I'm paralyzed with not caring very much.

Experimental TV: Comedy

This thread is part of an experiment to determine Buffistas' interest in television discussion. It will close on June 1st, 2007, after which there will be a brief skirmish to sort out what we want to do next. This thread is for discussion of all comedy, regardless of airing station. [NAFDA]

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

HIMYM is repeating "Slap Bet" tonight. I will be taping because I totally missed it last time.

It's a great episode. Enjoy it.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I think he was, because he was very deliberately never on camera when they were happening.

Yeah, that's what made me think it. Well, I wondered, and then tried to see him, and since he wasn't on camera, I figured it must be.

YAY Slap Bet! Was the New York Observer article on HIMYM linked here? [link]

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Damn. Got home from work way too late. I'd've scheduled it online, but I couldn't remember if I had anything besides Drive at that time, so I didn't want to screw things up and cancel the wrong things.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

So, it The Daily Show is to be believed (and I have no reason to doubt them), this year the White House Correspondants Dinner had that edgy comedian Rich Little. Doing Jimmy Carter impersonations. I wonder why they played it so safe this year...

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

I love the Giant Head of Brian Williams on TDS. Genius.

Slap Bet is probably the pinnacle of recent sitcom television. I can't remember if HIMYM is available on iTunes, but it's one thing I would love to carry around with me on my iPod all the time.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I love the Giant Head of Brian Williams on TDS. Genius.
His first appearance on TDS (Nov. 30, 2004!!!) is still on my tv. It's my bulletproof cheer up. I make anyone who visits watch. Often twice.

The Robin Sparkle video is pretty genius also.

Emmett totally wants to be Barney when he grows up.

That's...a little frightening.

Of course, it would be worse if it was the big purple dinosaur he was talking about.

No, he hates that Barney.

Emmett already is a bit like Barney. He's got heart, but he's also got the ego and the self-interest.

Always Anti-fascist!

Oh, finally saw the Colbert/Penn metaphor-off. Don't have anything to say that hasn't been said, but it was really funny.
