Okay, okay, be honest with me here... I've been reading all your posts about Torchwood (yes, even the white-fonted bits), and I admit to being intrigued. And yet I have never watched Dr. Who. The brief bits of DW I've caught on SciFi have left me cold, and I haven't been able to convince myself to put any more time into it. If I don't have any background knowledge of the DW-verse, would I still be able to follow Torchwood? Would it be possible to enjoy Torchwood separately from DW?
Boxed Set, Vol. IV: It's always suicide-mission this, save-the-planet that.
A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
in a word, yes. they are very much different shows. there is an occasional DW mention, but they're pretty stand-alone from each other.
Tonight's Terminator thingie is at 9:00, 8:00 Central, right?
Yes. Following Prison Break.

Follow, yes. But if DW leaves you cold, I'm not entirely sure you'll feel differently about TW, which is an entirely different show, but cut largely from the same cloth. With gay sex.
yeah, pretty much what victor said.
He's gonna grow new skin?
He'll still need a face....
Finally getting caught up on SCC and I'm really liking it (I mainlined the first two just before tonights episode - I get to watch in real time; haven't done that for a while).
That was my thought, tommy. Maybe they've upgraded his abilities.
Nice to see the plot moving along....
Morgana,
I tried "Doctor Who" and couldn't get past the 8th or 9th ep of the new first season. I have watched every ep of "Torchwood" and enjoyed them mostly.
Just go along for the ride. Not a lot to worry about with regard to overlap.
