A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Only the Ancients would choose to live on a planet whose sun aims a lased plasma beam at it every few thousand years.
Did it not occur to Heightmeyer that Teyla might be picking up weird images of people trying to communicate with her because she has psychic powers? Good God, the woman better be thankful she's 4 million light years removed from peer review.
Oh yeah, that's annoying too. Especially because so much Weird Mind Shit (tm) has happened to the characters over the time they've been in the Pegasus Galaxy, not to mention all the history back at the SGC....
He has a baby WHALE FRIEND. Named SAM.
Heightmeyer made me want to slap her silly. But Zelenka and his pigeons were adorable.
I'm with Sheppard in thinking naming the whale Sam was vaguely creepy.
Ten minutes in to the new
Doctor Who
and it's all
historical clichés and bad American accents. I hope it improves.
(I have to wait for my mum to watch the whole thing).
My favorite was Shepperd being all weird about Rodney naming the whale Sam.
Heightmeyer annoyed me greatly, just all around, in this ep.
Loved Ronon & Teyla.
I really wish the writers and the sound people would talk more, because the "ghosts" sounded like whales. Most of these characters are meant to be smarter than me, how can they not realize that the voices SOUND LIKE WHALES!
On SG-1, I think the Ori are more philosophically or politically interesting than narratively interesting. The arguing theology is a nifty idea, and one I wish they'd brought up before, because I find myself thinking, "Just bleeding get
on
with it already. Bored now."
I read Vala's line "You can do more" to soldier dude as an allusion to Chrichton's "You can be more" to Aeryn back on Farscape. It would be cool, and actually narratively interesting, to tie that guy back into Teal'c and the Jaffa rebellion against the Goauld. Totally different character trajectory, in a lot of ways, but it could work.
He has a baby WHALE FRIEND. Named SAM.
This is what I'm saying! (I did not find it creepy.)
Not creepy, given what we know of Grace Under Pressure. But a little creepy for everyone else in-show.
Fiona, I enjoyed the new
Who
episode. I do love
Daleks,
after all.
