A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
My favorite was Shepperd being all weird about Rodney naming the whale Sam.
Heightmeyer annoyed me greatly, just all around, in this ep.
Loved Ronon & Teyla.
I really wish the writers and the sound people would talk more, because the "ghosts" sounded like whales. Most of these characters are meant to be smarter than me, how can they not realize that the voices SOUND LIKE WHALES!
On SG-1, I think the Ori are more philosophically or politically interesting than narratively interesting. The arguing theology is a nifty idea, and one I wish they'd brought up before, because I find myself thinking, "Just bleeding get
on
with it already. Bored now."
I read Vala's line "You can do more" to soldier dude as an allusion to Chrichton's "You can be more" to Aeryn back on Farscape. It would be cool, and actually narratively interesting, to tie that guy back into Teal'c and the Jaffa rebellion against the Goauld. Totally different character trajectory, in a lot of ways, but it could work.
He has a baby WHALE FRIEND. Named SAM.
This is what I'm saying! (I did not find it creepy.)
Not creepy, given what we know of Grace Under Pressure. But a little creepy for everyone else in-show.
Fiona, I enjoyed the new
Who
episode. I do love
Daleks,
after all.
Xposted to When Come Back:
I missed the Stargate Mythology special. Does anybody by purest chance l have it on dvr who's willing to dub it for me? I'll pay postage. And possibly send bribes. Profile addy is good.
Fiona, many of those Dr. Who
US accents seem close to what you'd get in your average US production--I couldn't imagine the horror if all 30s women had Tallulhah's accent, but it sure seems popular when reconstructing the era.
Are they plain not going to spend as much time
off Earth as in the older series?
Who:
Tallula's accent reminded me of the "American" accents in Jeeves and Wooster. Ugh. Still, I liked her character. Everyone else sounded at least inoffensive.
DW:
we sat there and cringed through the accents in this ep. Laslow was great, though. Really subtle actor. Apparently Solomon (so amusing with splitting the bread!) is also on a UK medical show called Holby City, which amused my friend to no end. TBC sucks, though.
Been very ill and very busy. Am I in the right place? And are we talking season 3 Who?
