A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
With good fucking cause! I mean, it's not like he offered it.
Exactly. If he had said, "Sure, I can grow another. Here, let me help you cut." That would have been one thing. Instead he looked scared. They held him. It was very rape-like.
started posting about it in lj here, if you want to read my squeeing as i was going along.
Yay! I'll be over there in a bit 'cause I love your commentary.
Austin, you can find all my posts here. If you go to the bottom, you can read my non-spoilery reaction to the first season. If you click the cut, you can read my Buffista-post reactions to the individual episodes. The titles are bolded, so if you want to, you should be able to scroll slowly and not get spoiled.
The incident with the pilot's arm in DNA mad scientist still really bothers me. I know it was supposed to, but three episodes later, I don't know if I can ever really like the characters involved in that decision. It was shocking, and horrifying, and I didn't think they would go through with it. I guess that is good storytelling even if I am left with kind of a sick feeling.
This is why I think DNA Mad Scientist is where Farscape goes from being a fun but a little cheesy sf show to something special, and it just goes deeper and richer from there and becomes something magnificent.

I felt it was a turning point.
As I've said before, Farscape is everything that you didn't realize was missing from Star Trek.

You're welcome! The other season posts follow a similar format, with episode-by-episode reactions with bolded names.

Hee.
I've spent a (small) portion of my day off today channel surfing and stumbled across Independence Day on Encore. That movie is really full of SF-genre stars, isn't it? Jeff Goldblum, Adam Baldwin, Mary McDonnell, and Brent Spiner.

Right there with you, Austin. I was really appalled. Did you see the ep later where Pilot recalls how he arrived on Moya?
More of the same. Rinse. Repeat.
ita, re: lipstick on character in BW....
I thought in the bar, she looked like the joker. Honest to goodness. I even commented on it to Beau. He said, "I was thinking the same thing."
It was a lot of makeup, and I couldn't stare away from her lips. But I want some of that colour for myself...
