Boxed Set, Vol. IV: It's always suicide-mission this, save-the-planet that.

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Our wings are not tired.

The W&F signposts were perfect. Of course I sucked and skimmed for the fun. If I watched the show, and if I weren't fast asleep, I totally would have joined in.

eta: love the new thread title

Art Crawl!!!

I don't think that there has been an annoucement about DF yet. I hope we hear soon. But I bet they'll make us wait 'til May.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Has there been an announcement for a second season of The Dresden Files? I need to precalculate how much anguish I feel during the airing of the season finale.

Heh. No, not yet. I wish they'd just tell us already.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Life on Mars: Barring a painful physical terminal illness, I don't believe suicide is ever a positive choice. Clearly, in this case, it was meant to be one. Hence, the fucked-up-ed-ness.

Life on Mars finale:

I have to go read the articles that Fiona linked upthread, because I fanwanked my way around it being an actual suicide before I read Jon's take. As in, I'm not sure he ever woke up for real. He was up and about awfully quick, it seemed, and, I don't know, the whole current time thing had a weird feel to me. The weird look Morgan gave him as he walked away. I sort of thought he never woke up but "dreamed" or whatever his way into the present, then just did the same to get back .

Now, I'm not putting that forth as what people were supposed to take from it. Just how I fanwanked to make myself happy with the ending - he knew when he jumped off the building that he was just going from one unreality to another within his comafied brain. Not actually committing suicide .

In fact, maybe I won't go read the articles upthread. I do agree with Jon's take if I shared the same interpretation.

That fanwank is certainly one way to deal with with it, Jen!

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

AUGH. Must catch up with Life on Mars. I just finished watching 2.05, which I thought was an interesting episode that didn't quite gel. Lots of good moments, but the central idea of the flashbacks/visions never really worked.

Which one is 2.05, Dana?

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

The one with the guy whose wife and child are kidnapped, and there's a problem with Sam's medication.

I thought that was the best episode of the series! The Camberwick Green intro did it for me. I haven't laughed that much in ages. Even the Nonce waves. But I don't know if Camberwick Green ever made it to the States.

Last episode fanwank: Jen, I totally agree that he knew that jumping would take him back, and that's why he did it. In fact, I think the writer agrees, so.
