A lot of the time I was thinking about the American remake and how this concept would be hard to sustain over a twenty-two episode season because it's difficult enough to keep Sam's situation ambiguous in eight episodes.
Oh, right, I remember hearing about an American remake. I have the same reservations as you about sustaining the concept over a longer period of time. It's not really the kind of thing you can stretch out forever. At a certain point,
it seems like there's going to have to be some kind of revelation about the exact nature of Sam's situation and/or how he can get back home.
Maybe one 22-episode season would be a good length of itime, but I don't see it working for much longer than that.
Tom and I watched several LoM season 2 eps. We still have 3 more eps to go, I'm very excited! IMHO, the show's awesomeness is due to
Gene Hunt.

Would like a rewatch of Season 1 too, but I have so many things I need to watch before I can get to that.

creepy! I was very aggravated/upset at the cliffhanger, which was a sign of it being well done. Very engrossing and tense and sad.
The LoM remake is a David E. Kelly project. I'm not sure how well it would work as a remake since some of the more interesting episodes were tied to the location.
It seems like it would be better to do an American remake as a miniseries rather than a real tv series.

that's what I thought for the first couple episodes until I shifted perspective and saw the show as a cop show with sci-fi elements and not the other way around
P-C is me. The retro-70s elements (esp. the music) were big selling points as well.
Yeah, the retro-70s stuff grabbed me right away, especially the music and the clothes. (The huge lapels! The bellbottoms!) I really love the whole setting.
Whereas I don't really care about the retro stuff at all and sometimes wonder why they couldn't tell these stories in present day. I'm not familiar enough with '70s Britain to know how much has changed. One thing that sort of bugs me is, what,
police corruption is a completely new concept to Sam? Surely, he's encountered it in 2006 as well.
It's solidly done, however, so I don't give it too much guff. I also enjoy Nelson, the bartender.
