I think it was discussed a bit all over, Kate. Check out Unamerican for sure.

A topic for the discussion of Farscape, Smallville, and Due South. Beware possible invasions of Stargate, Highlander, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect Adult Content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

Kate, I'm passing on Vonnie's rec of this awesome vid. You've got to watch it, seriously. It's one of the coolest vids I've ever seen.
Has anyone else seen this take on Tony Blair's response to political obsolescence?
Oh lordy.
A hundred more years!

I'm guessing that's the Dead Ringers thing with David Tennant, right?
I don't think anyone's mentioned thatthe Doctor's new squeeze is Jessica Stevenson/Hynes from Spaced!
Um, I did, Polter-Cow, in my very first post on the episode. S'okay, just go on ignoring me.... I thought she was great in this too.
Re the Jeremy Baines actor - he also plays Will Scarlett in the new BBC Robin Hood, which airs in the Doctor Who slot during the summer. Check out this picture. He's unrecognisable (and HOTTT!). Also, I just thought he was excellent, full stop, didn't find him bug-eyed at all. Quite underplayed and just very creepy. As ita points out, he was a bit weird beforehand anyway.
Edit: oooh, missed my birth-year by one post.
Kate! I just finished the first season just now! Are we British TV twins or what?
Rock on! What did you think of it? Thanks for the vid rec; I'm downloading it now.
They're all in the Closed TV threads section.
Oh, duh, I forgot there was a separate folder for closed TV threads. Thanks!
Kate, you should also watch the other Life on Mars vid that ran at Vividcon that year. Let me find a link.
Okay, vid site is here:
You'll need to e-mail for a password if you don't have one (it's autoreply, so it should come quickly). The vid is called "Crazy."
Rock on! What did you think of it?
I wasn't totally enthralled initially, but after a few episodes, I got more settled into the world (as Sam did) and enjoyed the stories and characters for what they were. Post-VM, it was fun to have some more mysteries to watch being solved, and in a morally ambiguous manner, to boot.
A lot of the time I was thinking about the American remake and how this concept would be hard to sustain over a twenty-two episode season because it's difficult enough to keep Sam's situation ambiguous in eight episodes. After a while, it would just get irritating (although that's what I thought for the first couple episodes until I shifted perspective and saw the show as a cop show with sci-fi elements and not the other way around).
