That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

{{{tommy and Senor}}} I wish I had wise words, but I don't. All I can offer is my empathy.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Oh, Tommy, I'm so sorry.

But you have no infant seat in your car, alas.

This is true, sadly. We should plan better someday, and not for cleaning, but just general visiting.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Happy Birthday, Sean!

tommyrot, I don't know what to say. Other than Senor Sock has been very fortunate to have someone who obviously cares for him so much.

Bohemia was populated by both ethnic Germans and ethnic Slavs for hundreds of years, so place of birth may not be a very useful indicator in this case.

Yes, and I don't know where in Bohemia he came from. Though if I'm looking at the right person, his last name is Czech (and my last name, which is slightly different, is a Germanized version of a Czech name).

I've also found out that the Welsh part of my heritage is from Anglesey. Which is the northwest part of Wales (and technically an island, though not separated from the mainland by a lot).

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

OK, I'm off....

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Good thoughts coming to you, tommy. I'm sorry.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Good luck {{{Tommy and Senor}}}

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Gngrh. There's this guy on LJ, who occasionally posts a reply to me, who annoys me constantly with his blatant neocon bias. Even more so, with his continued attempts to educate me.

I mentioned that supporting the troops with better equipment might help ensure there were fewer of them to mourn next Memorial Day.

He replied that this is not what the troops think; it's yet another media campaign. "Even the fellow stage managed to ask about armor during that Rumsfeld visit was later revealed to be from a unit that was one of the best equipped and armored in Iraq." He tells me not to fall for it.

I want to reply and ask him if he knows anyone on the front lines who feels differently. I just want to know if I'm really as right as I think I am. This guy apparently does nothing else but this, and he can pull out "evidence" and "documentation" (truthful or not, I can't tell) for every claim he makes, and I can't, because I don't spend my every moment researching things. There's certain news sources I trust, and that's largely, you know, Jon Stewart. I can see why I'm not the most trustworthy source, either. The guy intimidates me.

Zenkitty, my mom would say you're renting this guy space in your brain. He is probably eagerly awaiting your response so he can shoot it down. You might annoy him most effectively by ignoring him.

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

Thanks for the happies, everyone.

I hope you have a wonderful Memorial Day. And if you get a chance, thank a veteran or a soldier today. I just sent a "thank you" email to my Grandad, who served as a radio man on a submarine in the Pacific in WWII.

And you and Senior Sock have my deepest sympathies, tommyrot.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Happy birthday, Sean!

This, totally.

So, I was just sitting on my front stoop and saw a cute-boy neighbor I'd never seen before. I did NOT ask him out.
