Spike? It's you. It's really you! My therapist thought I was holding on to false hope, but…I knew you'd come back. You're like…you're like Gandalf the White, resurrected from the pit of the Balrog, more beautiful than ever. Oh…he's alive Frodo. He's alive.

Librarian Warlord

I would seriously like to curl up under my desk right now (except I know what's been on that floor).

::sweeps everything off of Frank's desktop onto the floor, thus creating a space for him to curl up:: Ta-Da!

Art Crawl!!!

I'm having a good day. The weather is gorgeous -- with sunshine and lovely cool air and I've been puttering around the apartment. Actually, so much so that I forgot to take my am meds until just a few moments ago.

ION, I have NPR on and Diane Riehm (sp?) spoke about the Gingrich incident because apparently, Gingrich is making claims about why he left etc on his website that is contrary to what happened. She didn't say what his claims are but she says that his people contacted the producers of her show wanting to get on - rather last minute. They agreed to do the full hour - which is typical. Then, even more last minute they tried to back out of doing a full hour. But, because they didn't give them any time to get a replacement - the producers of the show said no. So, the people connected at the show thought it was settled. And you guys know what happened. Diane Riehm said that had they known that he was going to hang up - they would have opened the phone lines early so that questions from listeners could have come through. (I wonder, could it be that Gingrich didn't want to answer questions from NPR listeners?)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I am so much more ungronked this morning than last.

In fact, I'm looking forward to going to work.

Socks are a running theme throughout the series. They are used as symbols of freedom, redemption and love.

It would be so cool to be a nappy-time scientist.... Now I'm trying to think of a good name for a publication... Journal of Nappy-time Science or somesuch....

I would suggest a term made up by a friend of mine from grad school:

The Journal of Sleeponautics!

vanguard of the socialist Hollywood liberal homosexualist agenda

Did Aillean ever post her pictures?

No, not yet! I've been having Harddrive Space issues, which are currently complicated by IDE Cable Isn't Long Enough, The Bastard issues. All should be rectified over the weekend.

My quantity of suck is often astronomical. I blame SPN.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Awesome nature video....

A battle between a pride of lions, a herd of buffalo, and 2 crocodiles at a watering hole in South Africa’s Kruger National Park. Something like 300 in the wild life.

[link]

The lions catch a buffalo calf, which falls into the water. Then two crocodiles try to steal the calf away from the lions, and a tug-of-war ensues. The lions manage to get the calf away from the crocs.

Then the buffalo herd counterattacks....

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Ugh, I had 90 minutes of broken sleep last night and am now at work making a bazillion unnecessary (to the point of uselessness) design changes to an 84 page document a co-worker left for me before fleeing to the safty of vacation today. May summer warmth bring a bumper crop of chiggers to her vacation spot.
