I am so not a pug person--I guess the beagle part is the part that makes him cute and not creep me out big time. I'm not sure how his looks map to the 'dillo, but he's hella cute.
I was listening to a radio report about this climber/hiker who fell and broker her hip and after a couple days her dog went for help. I loved how she sounded. "I think he knew something was wrong. After a while I told him to go get help not expecting anything because, after all, he's just a dog. But he went and came back with help."
I'm still uber-pragmatic when it comes to pets, but I definitely have space to accept that a dog may sometimes get it above and beyond training (our dogs were never trained, but knew to come when they were called by name, and to attack on command). She sounded so...surprised, grateful, and incredibly appreciative.
And then I read stuff on dailypuppy (okay, skewed sample data) about a dog being the love of someone's life, and I just don't get it.
A friend of mine just got back from her ultrasound.
Her "80% probably a boy"? It's a girl.
I've suggested they name her Lola. Or possibly Trixie.
I will not flip out like a mammal and kill everyone. I will not.
I've spent, um, most of the day reading about fanlib. That probably wasn't the wisest move.
What's your take on the fanlib thing, Dana?
I mean, it's creeping me out, big time. But do you think they don't quite get it? It seems like they're almost purposefully tripping over every single rule of netiquette regarding fic and fandom, seriously.
I, meanwhile, am not allowed to beat the children. It's storming out, and I hope the power goes out so we can go home.
Yeah, Dana, that'll make a Monday worse. I was looking at the ads, and, well, they confuse me, and, as we all know, confusion leads to anger and anger leads to...um...
Colorado is one of the remaining states where you ARE allowed to beat the children. Just FYI.
I think it's a school rule.

God, me neither.
I am seriously starting to regret my pledge to myself to come to work every work day in May.
There are only six more of them!
ETA: or 7, I am possibly the LEAST mathy of all Buffistas.

I think they either don't understand how my particular segment of fandom works (predominantely female, mostly LJ-based, slash-friendly, community-oriented), or we were never their target audience to begin with.
After reading posts over at the official forum, I'll say that I don't think they're evil guys, and I do believe them when they say they're fans. But nothing I've seen from them -- posts from founders or employees, ads, FAQ, ToS -- absolutely nothing makes me want to involve myself with them, and I would discourage anyone I know from posting there.
This is completely aside from the gender issues involved, which are driving me fucking nuts.
