She's still looking for a snazzy blog title. Any ideas?

Mom-report: still mad at me and wouldn't let me go with her to the hospital to visit my own children. Seriously.
I'll have a side of F with my WT, please.

Seriously.I told my mother about it (because I can easily see the same thing happening between the two of us). She said what your mom is supposed to do is swallow the feeling, and give you shit about it two years from now.

Oh how I love this.

Imagine what Noah and Grace will be saying 30 years from now. I'm sort of in awe of the cycles, watching my kids and hoping they don't pick up my neuroses. Knowing that if they don't they'll most likely develop their own, new, fun issues even without my baggage.
Our standard comfort when they're crying or mad is, "There, there. You can tell your therapist all about it when you're a grown up."

How did you deal with her while you were growing up?

That's awesome.
So, I'm watching one of the last few episodes of Homicide (I can't stop!), and there's a teenager called Casper, so of course it's Kenny Wangler from Oz/Bodie from The Wire. I love how those guys all use the same actors all the time. Although that guy is always Kenny Wanger to me.
More foo.
It's really bizarre (and in this case, upsetting) to find yourself being the grownup in a relationship with a parent. And yet, I keep getting stories (my own included) that indicate that it's ridiculously common. Especially when it involves grandchildren. Well, I guess it says something about them doing something right...somewhere...
Two people in the grocery store made me go ahead of them because I only had 2 things. That was nice.
