My department gets no holidays between New Years and Memorial Day, but we do get an extra day for July 4th--this year, it's July 5th, which is on a Thursday. I'm going to try and take July 6th off so I can get a five-day weekend, but that might have to change if I get accepted into graduate school, because I might have to go down to Champaign the following week. If so, I'll need to come in that Friday just to get crap done before going away for 10 days.

We got cloudy skies with occasional flurries, and no Scola here. Blech.

Chicago better warm up by the time I get there. I didn't pack a heavy coat.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I'm sure some of the localistas would be happy to help you keep warm.

And when you say warm, you mean...?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Gawd, this had me laughing at my desk: 300 Kittens

Peep this redonk video mash-up of the movie "300" and defenseless kittens

It's so funny because it's done so well....

According to the Tribune's 7-day forecast, next Tuesday will be up to 46 degrees (the warmest in the forecast), with:

Blustery easterly winds, damp and raw. Rain possible. Precipitation could be mixed with wet snow some locations.

By Thursday, who knows?

Napoleon House is the only one that is even in the same category.

Napoleon House's is warm. It just doesn't seem quite right.

I was just thinking about the NO F2F the other day, when Matt, DX, Toddson and I trekked down to Central Grocery to get muffalettas, and then decided that driving around the city in an air-conditioned car sounded really good for the rest of the afternoon.

Normal high for Chicago for this time of year is in the mid-50s. Which means we can be sure the actual temp will be between absolute zero and the temperature of the Sun.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Chicago better warm up by the time I get there. I didn't pack a heavy coat.

When will you be here?
