"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Last night we were at the NICU during Noah's feeding time. We changed his diaper and cleaned his mouth (mouth cleaning = harrowing because of the tube-age). He had peed through his diaper onto the linens so he needed those changed. Which meant that K got to hold him for a while - a few minutes. He didn't think it was such a good idea then chilled out immediately.

I got to do the between-weighings lift as the nurse zeros the scale. He broke the 4 lb mark yesterday, but I dont know if it will stick or if he'll lose some weight today.

free starbucks is one of my favorite (though rare) things. I LOVE when it happens. It's like being kissed gently on the forehead by corporate america.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Totally. And I never buy starbucks any more, so I have no idea why I had a free one coming. Maybe they were doing a grocery promo again or something, but am I ever not questioning it. I got a Cinnamon Dolce Latte.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Happy Birthday Ailleann!

Woke up at 4:45 this morning for no apparant reason and dozed fitfully at best until the alarm went off. Plus, I've been either too hot or shivering all day. The sore throat's gone, but new symptoms have arisen. Hopefully if I go to sleep early this will work itself out.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Ooh! I almost forgot. I got distracted because of the thinking about cookies, and then I wandered off into the kitchen to get another one, and then I didn't finish my Pros list, but also:

  • We're short on cash this paycheck cycle, but today I got a check from the insurance company, paying back a $100 overpay! Whoo!

The SO had a glitch when he was setting up the automated billpay stuff, and double-paid. Then he thought he'd shorted instead of overpaid and paid them again! So we're glad to have the cash back. We almost never make errors in our favor like this. It's like we had a secret savings account. Without, you know, interest.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Happy Birthday, Ailleann!

Suffice it to say, Pro = I'm home from the dentist and my boss works from home tomorrow.

vanguard of the socialist Hollywood liberal homosexualist agenda

Lee gives good presents. (For the record, I also would have accepted this.)

What are monkey lights?

String of decor lights with little monkey head covers. She also got me a monkey bank. (They sell them at Target, but I can't find a picture...)
