Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

OK, that sounds way better than just having the dryer problems...

I have decided why I've been having trouble working on this thing I'm supposed to be writing for work. I don't have anything more to say! Four pages is plenty! What they mean, they want more??? Argh.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

This morning, I had a magnificent prenatal massage at BlissSpa. It was basically a regular massage, but with a bazillion pillows on the table so I could lie comfortably on my stomach or either side. I feel soooooooooo relaxed.

I got an hour long massage for JZ after giving birth and she loved it. You might want to plan ahead to get another one after all that hard work.

The status is NOT quo.

Oh! A thought prompted by something I saw in Spiderman 3 --is it grammatically correct to put an apostrophe between an abbreviation and the following s, be the s for pluralisation or verb agreement? Like the ever popular decade the 90's, or ?'s, or stuff like that?

It is indeed a matter of contention among grammarians. I started doing the abbreviation apostrophe s thing after a grammar text book I was using in class told me to. Then I stopped after reading in another text that it was wrong. So basically, it is and is not correct.

"I may not be able to reach your ass to kick it, but son, I will fucking murder your shins."

shrift, may I tag?

Jessica, so sorry about the electrician angst. Ain't being a homeowner fun? Sigh.

Cindy, I give you major props for not laughing in your daughter's face. I don't know if I could have managed that much restraint.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Also, right now I am eating a cupcake (leftover from the shower). Hooray!

Oh, and welcome back to the internets, Aimee and Joe!

That is an excellent idea, and I shall pass it on to DH.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

My weekend is going really well. We had a fabulous date night. Taught all day Saturday, so we were tired and decided to give a miss to the coffeehouse/church. Watched the Derby. It was great! It snowed, so we made our last fire instead and cuddled up by that. I got every task on my weekend todo list checked off. The SO cleaned the whole house, including a great job on the bathroom. I got some good books from the library, plus spent $2 for books from their Friends of the Library sale. The dog's new natural, domestically made, food & treats arrived and he loves them. We're slowly introducing the food, but he spits out all the old food until he can find and eat all the new food. Then he eats the old food, but clearly under duress. We got the SO all packed up and sent off for the week. And today we took a walk with the dog.

Oh, and when the SO went to pick up our new (Subzero, yay!) refrigerator, he asked the auction guy what would happen if people didn't pick up their winning bids. He told him they'd put it back on auction again, so they did, and all the items I'd lost on are for sale again. So I've got a second chance, and since the SO saw them, he knows they're quality, and I can probably bid higher.

So now I've got a completely clean house. I'm going to go and loll around and watch elimination hockey now, and then the Amazing Race final.

And then I'm going to have workweek from hell.

But for now, I'm enjoying the weekend.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

shrift, may I tag?

Heh. Sure.

And welcome back to the midwest, Aimee and Joe! I hope your family realizes that your proximity to Chicago means you have to visit often.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I hope your family realizes that your proximity to Chicago means you have to visit often.

I wholeheartedly endorse this plan.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I agree with the other Chicago'istas. And I'll just mention that I may be visiting Ann Arbor sometime soonish.

Does anyone else follow Warren Ellis' links? Is the Battles song really saying "people will be evil when they eat a sandwich"? [link]

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Columbus has a gifted graffiti artist running amok. He/she produces high quality work that is often mistaken for the actual advertising it's skewering

Okay, I LOVE the McDonald's one: [link]

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

The con is now over. It was nice and enjoyable.(and the nominated book I couldn't finish did =not= win its catagory, thank dog. I would have wondered if I was in Bizzarro world had that happened)
