Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Sucks about Eastern Market. I hope they can rebuild better than ever, and soon.

Unrelatedly, Kathy, you're a ROCK STAR. I can't even express how happy I am for all your progress.

Between melting bridges, mall shootings, burned down neighborhood buildings, the week is off to a rough start for Buffistas!

This is my thinking entirely. I'm wondering about a bad moon rising or a jacked up confluence of stars or summat.

Go you Kathy!

Riding on your coattails, I am 11lbs down in my first month of training for the Marathon. And a total of about 5 inches lost from various body parts. My calves, however, actually grew a half inch. Sigh. No matter what I do with my hips and waist, I will always have calves no boot can cover.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I'm at home with kinder too. Emmett's school has a teacher planning day. Nana is here to look after Matilda, and all three of them will go take a walk in the park shortly. It's gorgeous in SF today and nothing's on fire.

I'll work on the book while they're gone then take Emmett to the East Bay where we'll poke around a bit before our evening game.

I checked with my editor and I've got to the end of next week to turn in my book manuscript. I gave him a rundown on what I've done and he's excited. Of course, they're obliged to say that but I choose to believe him.

We're facing the first place team in our Little League tonight. We're in second so it should be a playoff atmosphere. Should be fun.

Oh yeah...I've got to do the lineup. That takes about an hour because I've got to make sure everybody gets infield time and a fair distribution of bench time.

I will always have calves no boot can cover.

Beej, silhouettes.com and jessicalondon.com are 2 places with wide-calf boots. I can vouch for the excellent fit of boots from Silhouettes.

Ooooh. These would fit! They give the actual calf opening. How excellent is that? Thanks for the tip Steph.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I can sooooo relate to this! The thighs and hips are melting away quite wonderfully, but those oh-so-lumpy calves? They ain't budgin' (especially the left one, for some reason). I'm hoping that they go down at least a bit before I have to wear that dress at Sis's wedding in October.

Go, marathoning Beej! I'm hoping if I can continue getting in better shape and actually work up to jogging instead of walking, maybe I can do a mini-triathalon in either 2008 or 2009. My sister loves doing them, and has got me thinking about it for myself.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

I am a C that goes braless a lot. i'm not perky, but most real bras with enough support poke me. Yes, even the ones I've bought at fittings. People with just have to deal with my less than perfectly placed breasts. and I like shelf bras.

Go Kathy! go Beej! When I seriously wok out my calves grow too.

Sorry to hear about the Eastern Market

Yesterday I gardened my self into an asthma attack. Did it to myself. but I am trying to be positive, because how will I know my limits if I don't occasionally go past them. And it gives me a good reason to catch up on TIVO and the dvds that are waiting for me to watch them
