Very impressive, Kathy!

Kat, I had a dorm fridge that got cold enough to use as a freezer. I think that might be cheaper than a wine fridge.

Kidney~ma for Teddy.

Dog has not thrown up since yesterday, I thnk he is okay.

Hooray for lisah's size 8 suit! Get yourself a scratcher while your hot.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Congrats on doing so well, Kathy!

My own weight news is less dramatic, but I'm a few pounds down from where I was last week, which means I've relost most of the weight that boomeranged upwards after I quit Atkins, and more importantly the high fiber diet I'm now on still has potential for continuing weight loss. I'm pretty sure I can maintain it indefinitely over the summer without worrying about its effects on my cardiovascular health.

Punishingly Intricate

lisah, find it online and give us a link!

jacket

trousers

sweater (which is not teal at all, irl, way more blue)

I got a scratcher on Saturday and it was super-complicated! It took me like 15 minutes to figure out I'd won jack.

Yay, Matt, on finding the best diet for your health! My dad did really well on Atkins, but had to give it up due to the same concerns, so he's back on the low-fat/high exercise program.

Mom's lost a few pounds in the past few weeks as well, but she now has gout in her little toe, so she's staying off of it this weekend until the meds kick in. Unfortunately, the now-standard treatment for gout is in the NSAID category of meds she can't take (an allergic reaction to Clinoril nearly killed her back in '79), so she's on an older and slower-acting drug.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Am I the only one picturing Kathy's mom in a smoking jacket with a glass of port?

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Love the outfit, Lisah! I am off to the mall this afternoon to find a jacket to wear to Minneapolis when I go out there in May. They keep the office way wicked cold, and I need something casual-but-chic to throw on so I look somewhat put-together and don't freeze.

Hee!! I said, "Isn't that an 18th-century thing?" Gout makes me think of Benjamin Franklin in 1776, telling someone that he wished King George "felt like my big toe, all over!"

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Yay for cool suits and working diets!

What are people doing this weekend?

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I'm seeing a show at a bar near me in Brooklyn on Saturday night. On Sunday, I'm going to try to go to the NY Botanical Garden in the Bronx.
