Lorne: Snakes? Uh-huh. And they came out of your what? Okay. Okay, well, did they get up there themselves or is this part of a, you know, a thing? No, I'm not judging...Do we fight snakes? Angel: Only if they're giant. Or demons. Or giant demons. Are they giant demon snakes? Lorne: Well, unless this guy's 30 feet tall, I'm thinking they're of the garden variety.

This morning I managed to knock my sliding glass door off the rails (uh, I don't know how, but I got it back on) and then had to sit 5 minutes in the driveway waiting for some idiot to make a left turn out of it. Which, during rush hour? Is pretty much impossible until someone takes pity on you and stops. There aren't very many pitying drivers in this city. And yes, it was someone I've been stuck behind before , so it's not as if they could be completely unawares.

Art Crawl!!!

We went to a fun breakfast and talk for Admin Prof Day - yesterday.

My week has been odd: took Monday off (whoo hoo!), Tuesday went right to the Admin Prof Day stuff -- didn't get to the office 'til 10:30 and today? It's just dead in here.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

There are no Admin Day festivities planned for today here...

Did they at least fix the AC? Not that it's going to be quite so necessary today.

What is even happening?

Oh Stephanie, we suck. I'm so sorry.

Sparky, we gave Chris a bat and glove, and a Razor Kick Scooter. If I were a single parent, he wouldn't have gotten scooter. My mum gave him a bunch of neat stuff, including a camera watch with some spy gear software. He had a great birthday, and his party is next Thursday. We're making a Superman movie at it.

Cindy, 7 is not that old. I swear. It's turning ten, into the double-digits, that's really tragic.

Oh yeah, the double digits are weird. Ben turned 11 in January. In my head Ben is 7, Julia is 4 and a half, and Chris is 3. Of course that's the year he disappeared on us (and the year my dad died, and the year we moved and a bunch of cruddy stuff happened), so erm...Welcome 7!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I've kind of given up on doing Actual Work today. It makes sense in my head because I have a meeting from noon-2, and then I'm leaving at three. But it seems I do have quite a bit of stuff I'm supposed to get done. Hmph.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.
