I bought mine used almost (not not quite) 10 years ago, for $40 from a rental place offloading its leftovers. Every so often it does something freaky, like cycle on-off when I first turn it on, or decide to tint everything deep rust red. But cursing and turning it off and then back on again still works as a solution.

TV stations are phasing out analog broadcasts. TVs with analog receivers will need converter boxes.
From Wikipedia: "In the United States by no later than February 17, 2009, all U.S. television broadcasts will be exclusively digital, by order of the Federal Communications Commission...."
Is that the same as high def?
No. All high-def TV is digital, but not all digital TV is high-def.

Congrats megan! I've tended to move on the cheap, and I've actually had the best luck with the USPS (I can pack a box to 79.5 lbs, just squeaking under the 80 lb limit). When I used actual movers, they were for crap and broke a bunch of my stuff. Do you have restrictions on how you can spend your moving allowance? When I moved back to Alaska, I had to submit bids, and my work paid for the low bid, which may be why my mover moving experience was so awful.
Panic and drunkeness are a really sad combination.
I have a friend whose teenage son went out drinking in the wilderness with some friends to celebrate high school graduation. In his drunken state, he thought it would be a good idea to rumble around in the bushes at night, making his friends think he was a bear. In their drunken state, they thought that it would be a good idea, after yelling that they were going to shoot (and getting no response), to shoot blindly into moving bushes, rather than staying inside the cabin. They ended up shooting him in the leg. All could have been saved, but in their drunken state they thought it was a good idea to pack all six of them into a subcompact car and drive the hour and a half to the nearest hospital, rather than stopping at the well-marked emergency phone to call for help. He bled to death on the way. Even if some of them had stayed behind so that he could lie down in the car with a tourniquet, my understanding is that he likely would have made it. They just did every single thing wrong.
