"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I was ambushed by the full-on, knock yourself out on your computer monitor sneezes. After about twenty of those in a row, I think I have whiplash.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Target didn't have the blue Sudafed. I settled for the regular, but I will continue my quest to find the blue stuff. They still make it, so someone must carry it.

Or...not, according to the consumer line I just called. Oh, tragedy! Oh, my beloved blue Sudafed! Cut down too soon! There is no blue Sudafed in Mudville.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Oh, Dana, my sympathies. I remember when Alka Seltzer changed their Cold formula from the stuff that worked but might kill you to a safer and ineffective new med. It was a tragic moment for me.

After about twenty of those in a row, I think I have whiplash.
Allergy meds should have muscle relaxants in them. My neck is killing me from the sneeze rebounds.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I'm going to stop by Walgreens on the way home and see if I can find any of their house brand version of Claritin to clear up the horrible pressure on my ears. The sore throat I can deal with (mostly), but the ears are really killing me.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Dana, have you tried drugstore.com?

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

drugstore.com has the blue stuff in the new formulation, but not with pseudoephedrine.

brillig

There was a headache pill called Cope that was the only thing that could touch my near migraines, but it disappeared. This was probably abotu 20 years ago. I wonder what was in it that was going to turn my potential offspring into two-headed monsters.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

This is one of the best SciFi novellas I've ever read (although I haven't read as many as some here have). You can read the whole thing here: Missile Gap by Charles Stross

From Booklist:
“With the dazzling success of his last two novels, including the Hugo-nominated Accelerando (2005), Stross is rapidly establishing himself as one of the preeminent masters of hard sf. Here he takes a breather from weightier fare with a bizarre, nevertheless brilliant alternate-history novella featuring a protracted U.S.-Soviet cold war…Once again, Stross sets the bar high for his colleagues, should they be feeling competitive, in this mind-bending, intriguing yarn.”
