A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

mini-meara:

ita, I really like the burgundy! But then again, I am highly prejudiced towards the red. (Note to self: buy hair dye today!!)

msbelle, yes, more cowbell! Uh -- pictures of your cutiehead Mac. I love the name Mac.

Ziplocks: I did Saturday school yesterday and organized my desk, and found a bunch of ziplocks, and ending up pinning them to the walls and putting extra pens and highlighters and pencils in them. I am so proud of my good idea! Yeah, ziplocks. I have used icetrays for cubes of stock before. You do have to wash eventually, but v. easy.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

You can also use the icetrays method to freeze the stock, and then put them in the ziplocs. Unless you're me, and you have no more room in your freezer. Then you need to just eat your damned food.

Also, about the taxes, not to enable anyone's procrastination, but it turns out they're not actually due until Tuesday, the 17th. Something about a local holiday deferring the deadline for everyone.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I finally gave up on manually checking what taxcut said my taxes were and just e-filed them yesterday. Still have to mail Louisiana's, as you can apparently onlt e-file one state, but I have another month for that. And, really, how hard can it be to put them in an envelope? I should be able to manage that in the next month.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I'm going to Home Despot with my neighbors to get some flats and gardening supplies. Our back yard patio is a nasty disaster, and we're gonna fix it up with flowers and a new patio set, so we can actually ENJOY the backyard.

I love the whole community osmosis thing.

Punishingly Intricate

I just ordered some new, kind of boring but exciting for me shoes! And I'll get them on Tuesday because Zappos continues to be awesome.

Someone commented that they wear those shoes with suits which just seems wrong to me.

Speaking of fashion, I picked up Tim Gunn's Guide to Quality, Taste & Style yesterday and it is, as expected, hilarious and awesome! There's a whole section on his love for H & M.

In kind of disturbing news, I was eating a piece of a really very nice chocolate bar that someone had brought to a dinner party at my house and there was a little piece of thin WIRE in it. WTF??? I need to find out where she got the chocolate so I can pitch a fit at them. Or contact the company or something. It's so bizarre!

I am a big fan of ziplocs. I divy up the huge trays of meat into sandwich bags, toss in some marinade and freeze. Make too much soup? Gallon or pint bags, freeze. Those stupid bags of veggies or pasta that don't re-close and hello? I'm one person. Ziploc and freeze (or put in cabinets for the dry.) $30 in quarters for laundry? Ziploc.

I'm laundering right now. Good thing I didn't plan on going out today (though I need to get tp in the next couple of days) because it is pouring and soggy and just generally gross. So glad I took the trash out last night before this started. There's a small stream between me and the dumpsters.

I got 8 hours of sleep since midnight. Which eight hours, however... I've discovered that when I really need to wake up, I start having incredibly frustrating dreams about trying to take a shower. There are all these people and things thwarting me and I get really angry and thankfully, I then wake up. But jeez. Like I need subconcious frustrations too?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

You can also use the icetrays method to freeze the stock, and then put them in the ziplocs. Unless you're me, and you have no more room in your freezer. Then you need to just eat your damned food.

On ATK today, they had a tip about freezing leftover stock in muffin tins, and then tossing the frozen chunks into a ziplock bag. Genius! (Because I've done the ice tray thing, and the cubes just seem too small to be useful. But a muffin tin is just right!)

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Any word on Scola's flight?

If necessary, I could clean (instead of doing taxes, resume, and a light plot) and host a Drive evening.
