It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I'm reviewing some incredibly dry documents at the office related to products liability. I'm reading a report produced by a manufacturing association about their goals, the things they accomplished, it's all rah-rah and there's a section for the things they didn't accomplish, followed by slides that read, in part,

Strategic things that, in retrospect, could have or should have been anticipated, but were not, that we have worked on [etc]

Do see see a pattern to these outcomes? That's because there isn't one!

And that's because

a trashcan-sized Ziplock bag (I didn't know they made them that big!)

They are awesome for storing blankets and comforters.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Just got back from a loooong hour at Lowe's, ordering a new sliding door for the office. I am the only one with the company credit card, so it had to be me. Because it is being delivered, I had to go from one end of the ginormous building to the other two times and this following a long busy day at work. I am home and very sorry I took my last darvocet a few days ago, because I am very sore and could use really one right now. I have cancelled plans on people so MUCH this last couple of weeks. I am clearly overestimating how much energy I have. I say this whole recovering from surgery thing SUCKS.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Trashcan-sized ziploc bags? I so need those.

Poor Robin! You should've got one of those little cars that you drive through the store. I used one of those in CostCo once after my foot surgery, and it was like playing bumper cars, only better, because I was the only one with a car.

Robin, I feel your pain. I got hit by a car eons ago, spent a few days in the hospital but the only thing wrong with me was a lacerated liver and some pelvic fractures, including the tailbone. I didn't even have surgery but after two weeks of enforced bedrest it still took three months to be able to be on my feet for more than a half hour. Your body needs the rest.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I think so too, sumi, but I hope it actually results in new information about the minature killer.

Poor Robin. I hope you bounce back quickly and take it very easy.

Just got off the phone with my mom. She wanted a twins and Kat update. This is an example of why I volunteer her out as a borrowed parent.

It looks like my dad may be taking another sabbatical 100 mile from home. Last time he took one, I was in h.s. and he came back into town once a week overnight and we (or at least one of us) went up every weekend and spent the summer there. I'm wondering if mom might retire if it happens, or if she'll take a leave or a job up there or.... or what (she only has a couple years to retirement herself.) He's only got another year of teaching before retirement, and this is driven by his site manager taking another job and him wanting to train the sucessor (the guy is already on site, and they've been grooming him for it, but not this soon.) Anyway, interesting news. All in the last 2 days. It's all crazy!
