Oh. My. God. Yeah, let's traumatize the kid even more. That'll help.

What? Is that an April Fool's joke?
Why didn't they call the child's parent or guardian? What is wrong with people?

Well, from the police report it sounds like they weren't able to get ahold of the parents.
The kindergarten tantrum felon's name is Desre'e. I wonder if she freaked out after an introduction to punctuation.

Tea. On. My. Monitor.
I just don't get it. A kindergarten teacher -- and the school administration -- are supposed to be early childhood experts. And they believe that the best way to resolve a five-year-old's tantrum is to have big strange men chase her into a corner, cart her off in handcuffs, and take her to a police station?!
Yeah, I don't think that a child's tantrum should qualify under zero tolerance. If she shivved the teacher, sure.

Really. Reading the police report just made me angrier. It's written like she's some criminal. She was likely scared to death when the cops showed up. Then they dragged her out from underneath the table where she was hiding. The poor little thing kept putting her foot in the cruiser door, trying to keep them from shutting her in. Oh my word, what must have been going through her little mind. She's two months younger than Christopher. I want to smack every adult that dealt with that poor little girl.
Yeah, what Cindy said. That is just horrible.
It's all this "zero-tolerance" bullshit. Like, when kids get expelled for taking aspirin to school.
