Thanks, everyone. I'm looking forward to some uneventful days now. Please.
Allyson, how much do I love that the woman who is reccing your book for PW is at Book People, my all time favorite bookstore not named Vromans? I love Book People enough that it almost convinced me that I could live in Austin.

Seriously, that one intersection in Austin with Book People, Waterloo Records, and Whole Foods? Megan heaven.
Boring days wished to you, Kat.
I have a cousin in Austin. She has an adorable house.
Glad that Grace's surgery went well.
PBS is doing a story on Jonestown. I'm remembering being 17, horrified, and baffled again.
It boggles me to think of adult, contributing members of society who don't have the immediate, visceral reaction I do to those videos of stillness and that vat of purple liquid.
Sorry to be a downer.
Yay, Grace! Now go be uneventful for a while.
Oh, Allyson, I'm so happy for you!
rock on!!!!!
Allyson, that's fantastic! Holy moly. See? You don't suck!!!
So glad Grace's surgery went well! May Grace and Noah have some undramatic months now to get big and strong.
Southern: Billboards with Bible verses on them. Driving past three giant crosses set up in farmers' fields. (I had to explain that one to a Northern friend of mine once.) Biscuits and milk gravy. That crack of candy bars, the Goo-Goo Bar. Catfish jamborees. Sweet tea served in Ball jars. Cake walks. Squaredances. Pretending to swig the moonshine when the gallon jug comes your way, just to impress the guys. I'm getting nostalgic for a place I don't even want to go back to.
