I didn't start out psychotic.

The internet is pissing me off. Something about the network route between here and fickr has been screwed up for months and it takes forever (like, much, much much worse than dialup. Minutes. ) to load and it PISSES ME OFF.

And I can hear all the IT people talking about non-work and OHMYGOD I do not need another person coming up behind me!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Stupid insomnia. I didn't get to sleep until about 3:30 this morning. Now I'm waiting for coffee to take effect before I call a client. In the meantime I'm trying to figure out something I did a few weeks ago, so I will know what I'm talking about when I call the client.

hip deep in pie

Man, I feel like just feeding my cats real meat for the next while until the freakin' sort this recall out. I'm sure that cats wouldn't mind at all. My cats just finished a bottle of pounce, but it was fish flavoured, not chicken. At least, the treats were fish-shaped, so I am assuming they were fish flavoured.

But just think, what if they weren't? What would it mean for us - to live in a world where the shape of kitty treats cannot be trusted to indicate their flavor? All bets would be off....

Sorry, the caffeine still isn't working. I'm tempted to get more coffee but I'm afraid I'll upset my tummy....

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

I woke up psychotic this morning. I hate it when that happens.

Heh. You might want to delay reading the e-mail I just sent you, then.

Do you have to wear support stockings post-op? Or do you just have to walk around lots? Hope you're healing nicely.

No support stockings, though there is something called a binder which is a lot like a maternity belt and I wore it for a day or two, though only when I walked from my room to the NICU. Now I'm almost off Vicodin (though it was sweet to have a nurse bring it to me on demand every three hours along with ice water) and just relying on ibuprofen.

I heard that if I weren't pumping milk like Bessie I would have had percocet on demand! I heart the painkillers.

Today's plan:

    • start to pack up maternity clothes (seriously in the past month I've been through about 100 different sizes)
  • call the fetal specialist and cancel my next appointment
  • set up traffic school
  • change my mailing address
  • call California Child Services to see if Noah and Grace qualify for financial assistance.... they do qualify for Social Security but I guess I should wait until I know what their SSNs are before I start going down that road? Or maybe not... which means I need to call their social worker and figure it out.
  • I need to buy a lamp for the living room, a table for the living room, a skinny bookshelf for the living room, a carpet for the breakfast nook, a teapot, a food trap for the sink, bottle brush
  • begin looking for extra membranes for the breast pump and nursing camisoles. Seriously I need nursing camisoles.
  • go to the Apple store and figure out how to make the Mini wireless capable

Ugh. any three of those things accomplished will make me feel like my day is a good one.

As long as you don't tell me that I suck, I think we'll be okay.

No, no, everyone else sucks.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ugh. any three of those things accomplished will make me feel like my day is a good one.

Yeah, that sounds like a lot of stuff!

My new staff person started today. Man, orientation is hard, and I suck at it. I basically told her everything in the world just now. But then I gave her (and me!) a break to try to absorb any of it....
