Movies like Grindhouse are the reason I like going to the noisy theater in Brooklyn where they yell back at the screen. I'm sorry I'm out of town for the opening.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I started the hair-cutting trend

You totally did, Theo. It was looking at your lovely cut (so good for your face!) that prompted me to remember I needed to get mine cut and make an appointment. It's Buffista hair madness!

I would be excited about Grindhouse except I've been up since midnight. After I've slept I'll be more enthused about it.

Although I just realized, it's almost certainly playing in the drafthouse theater. That will definitely help raise my excitabily level.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm seeing Grindhouse at The Bridge tonight. I'm exhausted beyond belief because my dreams have been vivid and my sleep particularly strange recently.

I think I get to nap beforehand, and I may have to appropriate a shoulder to hide behind during the show. Most of the movies that demand a big screen viewing end up...oh, who am I kidding. Movie theatres give me migraines. But I no longer do any of the fancy stuff like driving or thinking. Kinda mitigates.

I'm posting from work. Don't tell anyone. And I'm running away again, because despite not having any work to do right now, I still feel guilty.

I can sympathize. I did a sleep study last night, though "lack-of-sleep study" would be more accurate. Oh well, at least they got to monitor one of my bad nights of sleep instead of an anomolous good one. Way too hard to get comfortable with all the wires and the tubes up my nose, and they were a little too eager to get me to try out the CPAP device (though my lack of actually being able to sleep eventually deep-sixed that idea - the problem's not sleeping, people; when I do sleep it's usually good sleep, just short-lived).

I'm going to be completely gronked by the time this lets out tonight.

HA! Yeah, me too. I think they were disappointed that my sleeping patterns didn't necessitate it.

Did you go to the place in Beverly?

the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

my dreams have been vivid and my sleep particularly strange recently.

I dreamed about zombies last night. All. Night. Long.

On the plus side, I kicked a lot of zombie ass. Or, more accurately, I beheaded a lot of zombie heads. Including, for some reason, Pierce Brosnan, which made me really sad, because I didn't want him to be a zombie, but then he wanted to eat my brains, and I had to chop his head off.

Yeah, I have NO idea where all that came from.

random: I wish I could keep ξ and ζ straight. They're unfortunately both labelled squiggle in my head and I have to look them up every.single.time.

Yep. The bed was comfy (I think it was a memory foam mattress) but all the aparatus was distracting. I'm not sure how they think you can sleep on your back when the back of your head is covered in tape and electrodes.

I mean, apnea is a huge, damaging condition and I'm a known high-volume snorer (from a family of high-volume snorers), but that's the big reason I trained myself so that I CAN'T sleep on my back. The big sticking point is I DON'T get 8-10 hours sleep and still feel tired; on good nights I get 4-6 hours and feel rested. The big problem is when I can't get/can't get back to sleep and only get 0-3 hours (at least as I perceive it).

I loved that mattress, I've been coveting one since that study. The sleep center's in the same building Tom works in!
