Spike's Bitches 35: We Got a History

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I think you're being bitten by your region, Raq. Hue has both.

Punishingly Intricate

I don't wear hose, I wear tights. I certainly do not wear capri leggings. I didn't in the 80s, I won't know.

Seriously! I complain nicely to the Nordstom salespeople every time I go in there even though they can't do anything about it.

move out and draw fire

I think so, ita. I went looking for Hue and found no tights. Actually, not even my standby Target had much in the way of tights.

It is hoyle to go into a MAC or Sephora store and ask them to do your makeup? Do you have to buy anything? I want someone to play with my face (also in the non-pr0ny way) and I'm not sure how to go about it.

It's completely okay to go to a cosmetics counter and ask them to do your makeup. However, if you're not planning on buying anything, tell them up front. I usually say something like "I want to experiment with a new look, but I probably won't be purchasing anything. I'll take notes and come back after I see how the products wear on me."

(Not really here, not really here, ohgodohgod the deadline monsters!)

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Raq, I was talking to a woman at my office and she said Blue Mercury will do make-up. I know Sephora periodically has make-over sessions and I have seen people having their make-up done, although I think they expect you to, you know, BUY stuff.

eta - she also said that MAC will do make-up if you're buying stuff.

Nope, here too. Almost all footless.

Compassionately intolerant

Every department store within easy reach is pretty much carrying only capri leggings. No actual tights.

I don't wear hose, I wear tights. I certainly do not wear capri leggings. I didn't in the 80s, I won't know.

Raq feels my pain. What has happened to retail lately. I may not be much of a shopper, but I'm pretty sure I've bought tights in the last couple of years...now I can't find the kind I like anywhere.

I've never worn hose...just black tights. I want good ones now!

There's no reason it can't be a product of your region too.

Last time I went stockings and frilly sock shopping here in LA, there was plenty of hose and plenty pairs of tights. Such is the way.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Raq - MAC requires $50 toward product to do your face. Sephora and Bare Escentuals will do with the hopes of winning you over to spend ooooodles, but nothing is required. YMakeupCounterMV.

It's happening here, too. Footless tights and capri leggings as far as the eye can see. I do not understand the point of fishnet capri leggings. Thank goodness for www.sock-dreams.com, that's all I'm sayin'.
