Bleh. I called in sick to work today with a migraine, and have not been able to brain all day. It finally let up late afternoon/early evening-ish, so I (finally) wrote up my wardrobe plans for next weekend's Big Gothy Event, made a black lace cover for my new pink parasol, and just finished decorating a mini top hat. Where that burst of energy came from, I have NO idea.

So they fired her right before the end of the year?? That's really weird. I mean, how inappropriate are we TALKING?? (OK, sixth grade is a little more sense-making, I was thinking high school. But STILL!)

I know in my school growing up a teacher was fired right before the end of the year because if she completed three years she had certain rights. I remember their being a push to make the rights kick in a three years and a day.

Of course, this is a vague memory and about a million years ago.

An indication of how quickly time flies - when I read it was your anniversary I thought you'd been married for one whole year. And then the mathy bit of my brain poked the lizard bit and muttered something, and then I did a whole OMGWTFPassageOfTime!!!! thing.

Since EVERYONE ON THE PLANET has different tattoo advice and I'm trying to amalgamate things, I'm undoubtedly doing the wrong things and it's all going to flake up and fall off my back, leaving me with pristine skin or a gaping sore or something. But...hopefully not.)

I went down to the local market to get a couple of things, and wound up parking right next to Jonathan Woodward

(Mind you, they're wasted on me too, because I just get all tongue-tied and run away. And if they're famous cute boys, then it's this to the power of a zillion. I really need to beat this part of my personality to death somehow, and just get on with being outgoing.)

Note to self: watching the Scottish play right before bed does not generally lead to a restful night of sleep.

And no, you are never going to understand why it did lead to an anxiety dream about auditioning for A Chorus Line, so don't even bother trying to figure it out.

Also, one of these days I'd like to, you know, take a vacation that doesn't involve my family.

That's a tricksy transition, one I also struggle with... I have much more leeway now that I have a SO, but it's still a delicate maneuvering. It's hard to be all, "You people are SO NOT RELAXING."

I have to say, being able to go on a vacation that doesn't involve visiting family is going to be one of the perks about living in Michigan.

Now, I can go back to LA or out to Boston or to SF or to Seattle or to ....

AND the added bonus of being able to go to any of these places WITHOUT Em!!
