Spike's Bitches 35: We Got a History

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Man, that wedding of yours feels like it was just yesterday!

This is THREE years???

Holy crap! I swear I was JUST AT the wedding! How can it be three?

Apparently this person used inappropriate language (repeatedly) in her classroom.

So they fired her right before the end of the year?? That's really weird. I mean, how inappropriate are we TALKING?? (OK, sixth grade is a little more sense-making, I was thinking high school. But STILL!)

The bad guys shot the roommate in the head, and slashed his daughter's throat.

Oh my GOD, that's scary.

Keep your journalling in easily-identifiable books

OK, I totally read this and thought you were still talking about the robbers, adn was like "Why would the robbers want to read my journal??" Also, I don't keep a paper one anymore--I did on and off for years, but ever since I started LJ like, five years ago, that's all I do.

I got to be reminded of why I love living in LA.

I went down to the local market to get a couple of things, and wound up parking right next to Jonathan Woodward, sitting in his beat up old silver Beemer. He was desperately rummaging through his car looking for something. I went in, made my purchases and came out, and he was still looking.

Turns out he was looking for his car keys. Which were still sticking out of his trunk.

So, I have added yet another ME alum I've just casually run into on the street. Nick Brendon is still my favorite, though.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

One of my tutoring students today paid me with a $100 bill. I can't remember the last time I saw one of those. I generally just don't have more than about $60 in cash at once.

Hmm. The next place I'm going to be spending cash will be the farmers market. Probably a good idea to get to the bank and get some change first.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Raq, my gods. Tons of ~ma for your co-worker and those women.

My tattoo, he is done. Except for the part where I will need about two hours of retouching in a month or so, for the drawback to having soft skin is that the elasticity of same makes it not want to accept ink. Am now lightheaded on Perc and endorphins. Still need to write up my trip - it was quite profound in many ways. Yes.

nods

What meara said. Happy anniversary JZ & Hec!

Raq, your co-worker, his daughter, and her roommate have my best wishes.

Happy birthday, meagan!

Bleh. I called in sick to work today with a migraine, and have not been able to brain all day. It finally let up late afternoon/early evening-ish, so I (finally) wrote up my wardrobe plans for next weekend's Big Gothy Event, made a black lace cover for my new pink parasol, and just finished decorating a mini top hat. Where that burst of energy came from, I have NO idea.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I know in my school growing up a teacher was fired right before the end of the year because if she completed three years she had certain rights. I remember their being a push to make the rights kick in a three years and a day.

Of course, this is a vague memory and about a million years ago.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Dear God, Raq! How appalling!

!!!!!

iwildlyon, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, ZMAYHEMS!

An indication of how quickly time flies - when I read it was your anniversary I thought you'd been married for one whole year. And then the mathy bit of my brain poked the lizard bit and muttered something, and then I did a whole OMGWTFPassageOfTime!!!! thing.

PEEEECTURES, Juliana! PEEEECTURES!!!! (Meanwhile, my tat is now starting to itch like crazy. Since EVERYONE ON THE PLANET has different tattoo advice and I'm trying to amalgamate things, I'm undoubtedly doing the wrong things and it's all going to flake up and fall off my back, leaving me with pristine skin or a gaping sore or something. But...hopefully not.)

I went down to the local market to get a couple of things, and wound up parking right next to Jonathan Woodward

I am All About The Envy. Encounters with cute boys are wasted on you, Sean!

(Mind you, they're wasted on me too, because I just get all tongue-tied and run away. And if they're famous cute boys, then it's this to the power of a zillion. I really need to beat this part of my personality to death somehow, and just get on with being outgoing.)

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

Note to self: watching the Scottish play right before bed does not generally lead to a restful night of sleep.

And no, you are never going to understand why it did lead to an anxiety dream about auditioning for A Chorus Line, so don't even bother trying to figure it out.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Also, one of these days I'd like to, you know, take a vacation that doesn't involve my family.

That's a tricksy transition, one I also struggle with... I have much more leeway now that I have a SO, but it's still a delicate maneuvering. It's hard to be all, "You people are SO NOT RELAXING."

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I have to say, being able to go on a vacation that doesn't involve visiting family is going to be one of the perks about living in Michigan.

Now, I can go back to LA or out to Boston or to SF or to Seattle or to ....

AND the added bonus of being able to go to any of these places WITHOUT Em!!
