Spike's Bitches 35: We Got a History

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

The status is NOT quo.

Daniel, that's so sweet. I'm so glad you and Andi found one another. And Aims? Go you. I'm glad that something good came out of the badness this week.

Now, since it's all about me, I would like to file an official complaint about the past week and a half. I am still drowning in work, and our progress report deadline just got moved from Monday to Friday. No, not more time, LESS. As in, they are now due THIS FRIDAY. And why, you ask? Because the massive server upgrade the school is doing--the one that involved transferring all of our data out of an old system and into a new one--is scheduled for this weekend. So the whole network will be down over one of the dozen or so weekends that we actually NEED it. Will they reschedule? No. We just need to do it FASTER.

Given the amount of grading I still have to do and the fact that I have an in-service on Thursday and a full teaching day on Friday, I am royally fucked.

It's a damn good thing that I have the weekend off since I won't see ND at all this week and leave Monday for a camping/rafting trip with the ninth-graders.

Aimee, in a small world moment, I went to Bowling Green, and it's right that the Pop Culture department is kosher. Depending on who you're talking with, I might even know them. Feel free to e me if you have a question or want me to check.

I'm a Daniel and Andi fan. Huge fan.

And I only see Earth flip-flops for $100+ at Zappos, which is a lot for flip-flops, but nothing at all for comfortable feets.

Speaking of shoes, my diamond shoes are way too tight: My favorite winery [link] has sold out of futures on my favorite wine. Boo-hoo! I think I liked it best because they named it after the dog. I ended up getting a couple of blends now, and some merlot and cab futures.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

::Waves::

Glad Em's baby clothes found their way to someone who needs them.

{{Daniel}}

DH is stuck in San Antonio, supposed to have gotten to DFW 5.5 hours ago. Bad weather, apparently. After keeping everyone on the plane out on the tarmac for 4 hours or so they are finally returning to the gate.

Sucks. Brain missing, in search of adequate sleep. first person pronouns.

Thrive to spite them

Aww Daniel congrats to you and Andi. Y'all are so sweet together and I'm glad you are happy.

Did you ask the guy where/how he heard about the job?

Yesterday's paper. I told him to go back and look and see what it said.

And I do indeed have a fever -- it went up to 101.8 but then went down to 101.1 I took something to bring it down. Hopefully in the morning it will be gone. I can't afford to miss anymore work.

Bet the pilots are glad they're behind a locked door right about now and will only see the passengers when they're hurrying the heck off the plane.

Jeesh. Poor H.

I'm sure. They didn't even give them a free snack, just offered to sell another one. US Airways/America West, if anyone wants to know who to absolutely avoid.

askye, there seems to be a one day fever run-over-feeling flu going around (these parts, anyhow), which is no fun bit at least doesn't drag itself out. I hope yours is gone by tomorrow, whatever it is

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Thank you! I'll let you know!

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Cripes. My old backpain came back with a vengeance today, right as I was leaving work. I decided to continue on to the bookstore as was my plan. Mistake. I ended up in one of those headspaces where nothing appealed and every moment got more frustrating. Serious funk.

I'm home now, and waiting for my magic solution to kick it. (Asprin and wine. Seriously. When this used to be a chronic thing, I tried everything. All the hardcore painkillers, muscle relaxants, heat pads, cremes. Nothing. After months, maybe longer, of trial and error, I found that the only thing that reliably worked was plain old dollar store aspirin and lots of it. And a glass of wine or whiskey seems to turbo charge it.)

But jeez. Please do not let this be coming back on a regular basis. I'm not at Steph levels, by any means, but this fucked me up for a good two years or so in the past, and I'm horrified at the thought of having to deal with that again.
