Huh. That's...well. Did it ever cause any legal complications or confusions? I know a lot of people who get legally married, but it's not connected to their "wedding" at all. But not so much with the twice-legal.
Hee. You were extralegal!
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Not that I know of. My ex has remarried a couple of times and it doesn't seem to have posed any problems for him.

Heh. That reminds me of my cousin whose wife is a Spanish woman who (a) does not ever plan on returning to Spain to live but (b) doesn't want to give up her citizenship. Just to make sure that there was no way they'd ever be separated by some Immigration fuckup, they got married four times: one civil and one religious ceremony in Spain, and one and one in the US. By the time they finished the US religious wedding, she was unique in bridedom in that she never, ever wanted to see her wedding dress again.
I loved the big messy Zmayhem wedding. And I miss the Zmayhem wedding cake. Specially because I found out last night that Emmett was so busy running wild with his cousins and Hec's friend Gary that he never actually got any cake, but partly just because I'm greedy and want more cake for myself.
I'm loving everyone's big wedding and wee elopement stories so much!
tub cleaned ( so DH can finish the chipping) (added to list)
1 load of launry folded and away
old but clean and folded laundry sorted on he bed
have spent 30 minutes in guest room
1 load of laundry in the dryer, 1 load in the washer
Keeping track is keeping me on track. I promise not to do this everyday
Despite the fact that my marriage ended after six years, I will never regret the wedding. It was perfect. Not huge (about 115 people I think), but personal and loving and filled with people I adored. The weather was perfect, and the reception was in a gorgeous arched former yacht club along the Mystic River (the one in CT, not Boston) and was incredibly beautiful. The entire experience was magical.
I'm glad I did it once, but I wouldn't do it again. If I ever get married again, I will elope (though not to Vegas). I'm thinking tropical island on a beach or something.
I don't think there's anyone in the whole world I'd want to to marry 4 times. Damn.
If I ever got married, I would not elope, because I have gone to too many other weddings. Plus, I would want the fancy dress and underwear. And towels. I want showers, and towels. No strippers. Just fluffy, matching towels.
I really don't want a husband. Just the dress, party....and towels.
I am now picturing Erin's monogrammed towels "Hers" and "Also Hers" and "There is only Her" and "Who the Fuck do you think this belongs to?"
I am picturing strippers bringing towels to Erin: "Here you go, ma'am. I can take my clothes off if you like."
And then Erin says, "No, that's OK. Go get some more towels."
I always wanted a small, intimate wedding and a big, raging party on a whole different day to celebrate. I had a gorgeous Vera Wang wedding dress picked out many years ago (for someone to copy as I knew even then that I wasn't about to spend that kind of money on a dress I'd wear once). Funny how life turns out. Not that I'm upset - I'm happily MarriedButNot. It would have been nice to have some sort of celebration, though. Maybe a few of them towels Erin mentioned...
Kristin, my stepsister did the twilight-wedding-on-a-Hawaiian-beach thing for her second wedding, and according to her and her hub, it was perfect for them.
