Spike's Bitches 35: We Got a History

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

chocolate cake:

Hec, I checked Ouidad out - this: ""Carving & Slicing" cutting method" scares me! Like, my hair has gotten kinda thin with this thyroid thing, and it may or may not grow back, I mean, it's not noticeably thin to anyone else but I know how much thicker it used to be, and and and - I don't want anyone cutting more of it out! Gah. I don't know - I think I need real thick hair to do that Goth Tori Amos look. fret fret fret

Nick Arrojo is in NYC too. A friend of mine splurged and went to him, and her hair looked awesome.

Okay, I need some of that there caffeine, and then go do a mountain of laundry.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

But it's very different for people WITH ADD who take an amphetamine. What's going on in the ADD brain (and this is the description that The Boy has given me, so don't take this as a medical assessment) is that it needs something to partially occupy it, so that it isn't constantly running off in 1,000 different directions.

Because that's what your brain is doing when you have ADD -- it's zipping around like a hummingbird on crack, looking for stimulation. That's why people with ADD get distracted easily -- the brain isn't stimulated *enough* to stay focused on one thing.

Am I glad I decided to pop in here before my shower. I think this is the best explanation of what goes on inside my head that I've ever seen. And, now I know why, since I went to half-caf in the morning, I feel much less focused and duller mentally. I've gone from a 3-4 cup a day fully leaded habit to one cup of half-caf in the morning. I think it's time to talk to my shrink about getting evaluated for ADD.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

this: ""Carving & Slicing" cutting method" scares me!

Sounds scary, huh? It just means that each curl is cut so that it fits with the curls next to it. So they fit together. If you want your hair to look full, I'm sure they can accomodate it. All of the models on their site seem to have lots of hair.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Whew. Finally caught up.

I need a lie down.

In Bitchy news, I now own a corset. The woman in the store reminded me mightily of Betsy--nothing physical, though--it was all in the cadence of her speech, and in her interests.

And soon I will have pie, for lo the oven blasts its mighty heat at my pastry.

Because books.

Google has a particularly silly new product up, in honor of the day.

Okay, I'm loving this blog post about Michelle Malkin's latest xenophobic hate mongering, primarily because of the Firefly shoutout near the end.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Bah. I'm in a mood. Best friend called because we were to have plans next weekend. We both have a bunch of stuff going on, so it looks like it may be put off for a while.

Toward the end of the convo she tells me now non favorite ex who is apparently still dating ex-friend, his dad died yesterday. j I have no desire to call and offer condolences, but am feeling verrry conflicted. Just reminds me of all the stuff we used to share, but it's not as if he sent condolences when my grandparents or friend died. I'm just all antsy and bleargh and people are assholes who you nevertheless have to feel compassion for. Fuckers.

Ok. That's pretty funny.

I'm sorry DJ. That sounds not fun, and well, kind of icky.

I have an annotated bibliography due in class tomorrow. I've kind of started it, but have hours of work to do on it yet. I also need a nap, because I'm exhausted. I figured I'd get more done if I slept a bit and had more energy/concentration. Well, Upstairs!Neighbor has VERY loud people over, so I can't sleep. But, I also can't concentrate on this work. I'm ready to shoot someone.

Thanks, vw, icky is exactly how it feels.

That sounds fun, but maybe another day when I actually have energy to lift my leg!
