Buffy? I like that. That girl's so hot, she's buffy.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

I just finished 1602 #1. Should we discuss here in whitefont, or go over to LJ or someplace like that?

Do it here! And whitefont? Please. I don't know LJ land and want to see what you guys say but haven't read it yet.

And yes, this is all about me.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

I read 1602. There are a few characters who I don't know who their superhero counterpart is. (Does that make sense? Like Peter Parker being Spider-Man.) But there are some who I clearly knew.

I'm intrigued enough to want to read more.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Like who?

I love how they translated everyone into the new time period.

I'm pretty sure that the nun and the scribe who were with the Inquisitor were the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver--Magneto's two kids.

The girl on the Virginia Maid kinda-sorta looks like she might be Storm.

Other spoilery things: I love the idea of Nick Fury as Walsingham and Dr. Strange as Dr. John Dee. The cameo of Foggy Nelson as the captain of Matt Murdock's ship was a nice touch. The 1602 version of Daredevil is probably my favorite of the characters so far, but Peter Parker is somewhat annoying.

One last question: The obvious answer to the identity of the Inquisitor would be Magneto, but that seems too simple. Does anyone else have any other ideas?

re: Anne's One Last Question, and without having seen the comic: Dr. Doom I might guess. He being the nearest Marvel equivalent to a Lex Luthor character.

Diablo Robotico Up.

The Buffyverse could really get some more aggressive traction with a more complete "Expanded Universe" kind of thing a la Star Wars. In a functional sense, the Fray series was a step in that direction.

That and an Elseworlds type of thing would be interesting also, but my biases for alternate realities/crossover stories are showing.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Hmmm... Based on Anne's comments, I don't see the point in my buying this series. I would barely get any of it.

Jon, the things I mentioned are more like shout outs than actual plot points. The story itself is quite entertaining.

Who? moi??

I found all of the Fray comics at one store. If anyone wants me to get them, squeek fast. They are 3.00 each, plus tax and shipping.
