Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

What's the one where Spidey's young, and meeting Wolverine for the first time? Too many adjectives.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

What's the one where Spidey's young, and meeting Wolverine for the first time?

I believe that's in Marvel Needs to Clear Out the Contradictory Canon Cruft a la Crisis on Infinite Earths

I think that was an Ultimate Spider Man issue, but it may have been an Ultimate X-Men. I'm only following in trades (slowly), so I haven't caught that yet.

Actually, the Ultimate line of books is establishing its own separate canon, away from regular Marvel U continuity. Rather than clearing out it's own universe with a Crisis, as DC did, Marvel just added a whole new line of books.

The regular Marvel Universe continuity is a shambles. It's best to think (IMHO) that each title has its own continuity, with just the barest reflections of events happening in other titles.

Aha! New X-Men is the one where Magneto has Prof X. So it could be Ultimate where Spidey and Wolverine meet. What's the hap on "New"?

New X-Men is set in the Marvel U., but Grant Morrison has decided to run things his own way, continuity be damned. He started the run with the E is for Extinction arc that wiped out Genoshe and "killed off" Magneto (haha). After the current storyline (which I've been collecting, but haven't read, since I'm a trade or two behind), there will be a four-issue run set in the future that will serve as Morrison's finale at Marvel for the time being, as he has signed an exclusive deal with DC.

New sucks. I like Grant, a lot, but his Magneto's a caricature on drugs.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Yes, although I can't remember which # off the top of my head. I have it at home.

Maybe it's a crossover. The one I'm thinking of has Wolverine being chased by a team of assassins related to his Weapon X history. Spidey's definitely peripheral.

Oh. It could be, at that. Marvel has a lot of x-over titles, just within Ultimates, let alone other titles. I'm having a hard time following my beloved Spidey across all the Ultimates titles.

Remember, remember/the fifth of November/the Gunpowder Treason and Plot/I see no reason/Why Gunpowder Treason/Should ever be forgot.

Actually, that is the second time they meet, just the first time without the masks.

And it is in the Ultimate X-men title...
