Create dates and end dates are all in the database. No need to do heavy lifting.
I gotta admit, for all the bullshit consensing, some of those thread titles are damned funny. Okay, maybe even many -- now that I can't remember the titles that were inevitably robbed.

Yeah, I figured as much. It was more of a mindless exercise to talk myself into sleeping.
...and I must say Natter just bitch-slapped the Bitches on the posting rate... IJS
Hey, Jon, how do you feel about a cleanup project? We have a fair amount of the styling in css, but there are still some background colours, etc lying around the HTML, and I'll really like to tuck them away (I have dreams of CSS positioning too, but let's be realistic).
If we're ever to implement the outstanding style choice mods, I think this should be done first.
Also, I'd like to schedule regular backups of the site. But the whole thing will be down for the duration. I have no idea how long this'll take -- I'm thinking of doing a Saturday night timing test to see.

OK. Can I have my own test environment?
Can I have my own test environment?
Sure. I'll e-mail you when it's set up.
Refresh this page every 5 minutes. (Minimum 10, use 0 for no refresh.)
Is this a trick question? The default refresh rate in Message Center is 5, but it says minimum is 10.
Edit to clarify: this seems to be the case the first time you subscribe.
Also related to Message Center and Subscriptions: why are Closed threads a subscription option? It seems to me the point of Subs and MC is to winnow down the threads of interest and to be kept current on recent posts. Closed threads by their very nature aren't going to update. If you want to look something up in a Closed thread, you can always go through Buffistas Home.
I guess I'm not necessarily suggesting a change, no harm the way it is, I was just curious about the design choice.
Edit: Ok, I can see having unread messages in a thread that just recently closed. Still not getting the being able to subscribe to Closed threads from Set Profile. Hmm, though I can see the complications that would arise if one were to edit one's subscriptions while in this state. Ok, nevermind, I think I understand why the Closed Threads are available. Just struck me as odd initially.
There's no good reason I can think of to prevent people from putting a closed thread on rotation to come up when they hit Read New. New only means unread -- if that's the way I want to work through Bureaucracy 1, so be it.
I thought of putting in a doohickey to unsub you from closed threads you've read everything of, but couldn't be arsed.
