The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

ita mentioned the wayback machine in the B'cracy thread. Very cool, but I can't get to any of the actual threads. I get the error message below.

Robots.txt Retrieval Exclusion.

We're sorry, access to .http://www.buffistas.org/showthread.php?thread_id=51&post_id=1 &PHPSESSID=aa86a0a2939c6131db5b26bdfac1a747 has been blocked by the site owner via robots.txt. If you take a look at B.org's robots.txt file, you'll see it instructs webcrawlers (from search engines like google.com, and in this case the waybackmachine) to not index the showthread.php file. Showthread is what displays the posts here. I presume the reason for this is to stay under the radar and to conserve bandwidth, otherwise everyone who googled Buffy porn would be hitting this site.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It's not bandwidth, so much as a thin veil of obscurity. It's the big old world wide web, anyone could be lurking, but cutting down on the number of ways to stumble on us seemed a small enough thing to do.

What is even happening?

We've archived our own stuff. Any of us who wants to can dl the archives.

I love the wayback machine, but it's only as good as its technology. There used to be a lot more of the Bronze available via the wayback machine. But when UPN took over the domain name, it somehow frelled up what was available of Apollo/The WB's version of the Bronze, or at least, the frelling seemed to happen at the same time. I wouldn't like to see us lose our veil just so we'll get archived.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

So is there a way for me to actually view the posts on the wayback machine?

Nope, ita told the waybackmachine to mind its own business.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

So is there a way for me to actually view the posts on the wayback machine?

You can download the thread you want to look at from our archives.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Wait, I don't think anybody's addressed the real question here. When did someone steal the real Perkins and replace her with a Robot???

Every planet has its own weird customs. About a year before we met, I spent six weeks on a moon where the principal form of recreation was juggling geese. My hand of god. Baby geese. Goslings. They were juggled.
Wash, 'Our Mrs. Reynolds'

Noticed this random quote. According to my infallible braaaiiiin, I believe "My hand of god." should be "My hand to god.".

This site says so. Shrift disagrees. I believe it's Shrift that made the random quote generator, no? Here's the audio clip. Hard to make out, but it sounds like "to god" to me.

ETA: Just checked the English subtitles for that scene on the DVD, and they think it's "to god" also. Ok, the horse is dead now.
