Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Looks fine to me in three browsers -- I see [link] in each one. What editing did you do?

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

I tried adding a space before the URL. Nothing else.

I don't see anything in Mozilla, Firefox, or IE.

And since it must be here, I turned off WebWasher, and now it looks fine. The hell?

So, nevermind, but that's weird, because other links were working.

The weird thing is that the [Link] in this post

Betsy HP "Natter 33 1/3" Feb 28, 2005 4:18:22 pm PST

shows up fine, but the proxy seems to be erasing the other one.

I don't even know where to begin. That's just weird.

I thought it might be the underscores in the URL that didn't show up, but that wasn't it. Oh well, life is too short, and I can turn the proxy off.

I put in partial tag-tidying code. It uses the tidy library to clean up on display, but does not tell the user or anyone when it fixed stuff.

If there are any display problems, please holler.

Lurching from one disaster to the next.

Is it just me, or are other folk seeing quick-formatting work in some posts and not in others? I'm mostly seeing quoted text with the ">" at the start but the text coming out normally but I also saw a post that had a sentence starting with a lone "t" but the formatting didn't occur.

eta: the weird thing is, it's not just happening to recent posts but posts dating back to Oct 2004.

The tidy library is cleaning up on display, so it will happen on all posts.

I'll have a look. It's pretty easy code to turn on and off.

Can you tell me which posts you're seeing it in?

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"
