...although, it
is
confusing, that it goes back to the top of the page and you have to scroll down past a lot of entries from the same blockee, looking for the one post you thought might be of interest. Maybe a header:location that passes the postid on the $_GET would be good.
t if it gets in geekier up in here, there may be an implosion
It's part of one of the extant requests, to make the block and mark code work like the edit and return you to the scene of the crime.
OK. Have I mentioned recently how much I dislike the block feature?
It really seems anti-community, to me.
I would like there to be no need for a block feature, but it seems that it's keeping more people in the same building, by not forcing them to be in the same room.
In an ideal world, or board, I would agree with you, Gus, but as things stand, I agree with ita-- it helps keep me in the same building.
I know. Same building, and all that, I get it. Still, since I am soon to again be living in a Bush America, I have a huge
phpppt
for the majority process. The minority lives here, too.
Gawd, my Inner Curmudgeon is on a roll, tonight.
The minority lives here, too.
The minority may be the ones using the filter -- just because it isn't you, doesn't mean it's the majority.
Getting out of BBaBB territory, here. The filter works as it was expected to and as it was mandated to by a good democratic process.
I suppose I should have aired my doubts more forcefuly back during that process.
Gus, quite frankly, we ignore people all the time (in fact, I directed conversation at you a couple of days ago and I assumed you had me blocked because I was ignored). Using your argument, ignoring people at all is damaging to the community.
Blocking people just gives us a technological solution to the difficulty some of us (read me) have ignoring and skimming past those who raise our blood pressure.
And, it seems as if we have had fewer kerfuffles since blocking started. I don't know for sure if that's true, but it has definitely seemed that way.
