I guess people still think Lee is nice, huh?

Face it, ita. I am the nice one, at least in LA.

That reminds me, I need to get mom to send out those checks again.

You know, as long as she doesn't cut my favorite quotes, it's all good. World, me, revolving... what?

A Lee and Nilly consult on quote culling sounds like a fine idea to me.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Here are the extant modification requests:

  • design Stompy image
  • CVS repository
  • change board over to use PostgreSQL
  • an admin only quick edit (!STOMP) that's replaced with the stompy image
  • Rearchitect code to use XML/XSLT
  • Ability to label bookmarks
  • On-board poll ability (is this needed now we have the voting system?)
  • Searching user list by e-mail address
  • Add character count to text over posting box
  • Option not to show taglines
  • Quickedits for tiny text, line break [BR], and links
  • More tags: BLOCKQUOTE, TT, SUB, SUP, CENTER, S (for strike)
  • Correct: in "Lynx, leaving a line blank does not start a new paragraph - I have to use [br] [br] to get a new paragraph." (Also happens to Sophia Brooks in Opera 6, post 2126)
  • problem with quotes in taglines
  • User set style: font, colour, etc (covers for visually impaired, dislike of fonts, size, and several others)
  • ?Subscribe to this thread? link in thread header
  • List of threads in ?set profile? be the other way around (ie, last first)
  • Threads arranged by type (NAFDA, spoiler, etc.) see BbaBB 2521 for Nou?s suggestions.
  • Add First Book and heifer.org to Links page as preferred charities
  • Force Beep Me and Press to the top of Message Center
  • Full-screen, large font compose box for impaired vision.
  • Programmatic interface for submitting to Quote Generator
  • work-friendly (distinctive logo/graphics only on the front page, not when reading posts)
  • Pictures, either with every post or just in the profiles
  • Jump to date in thread
  • message system, by which private posts can be left for other member, of limited length and retained for limited duration
  • tagline archival
  • (optional) birthdates in user profiles, with automatic "Happy Birthday to []" displays
  • Events -- give users the ability to enter an event (JM playing guitar, ASH on Leno) which will be displayed up to the relevant date
  • ?unmark? link for bookmarks on the actual post page, instead of ?marked?.
  • Perhaps we should have an "Aussie counter" (or a "Backward Antipodean Counter") somewhere on the site so people don't have to keep asking.
  • "we're loading over a thousand user names into the combo box every time we want to edit a title"
  • Direct transcription of thoughts to posting box

I've struck out one that I don't think is required any more. I'd like people to validate the rest. Some I think are important (PostgreSQL, labelling bookmarks, etc.), others irrelevant, some less important. And I'd like to get a sense of our current prioritisation, and I'm pretty sure this isn't complete.

Okay, I'm leaving that post there, because THE HTML AND QUICKEDITS I entered were correct. It keeps deleting the t /strike from the second line. However, it reads better as:

eta: balls. It doesn't like t Strike t /strike -- it's case sensitivity. I need to go test that in the revised code.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Can we add "Make 'mark' and 'block' return behavior match edit post return behavior"? By which I mean that when you either mark or block (or unmark or unblock, etc.) posts that you be returned to a page that starts with the post you just performed the operation on. "Edit" works this way. The others don't, and it's annoying having to scroll back down through a bunch of posts you've already read to get back to where you left off, especially if you have your posts per page set for something high.

Force Beep Me and Press to the top of Message Center

Aren't they already? I mean, they're not in the center, but they are at the top of the right column.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

We also need to add: enforce no posting after the thread has reached 10,000 posts.

And to fix the missing first post issue.

What is even happening?

We also need to add: enforce no posting after the thread has reached 10,000 posts.
Grinch.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

And proud of it.

I'm assuming that if no one sticks up for a modification, it can be taken off the list.

DX -- if posts don't stretch the screens out, is there anything else manual that needs be done to prep threads for archiving besides zipping the threadsuck? Of course, there's no way to really automate it if we can't zip in PHP (anyone know if we can find a module?), but I want to make sure we're making it as simple a manual process as possible.
