All is well that ends in pizza.

No, you have to choose one or the other, like all the quick-edit tags, as quick-edit tags are dependent on the tag being at the start of the line. There's no nesting.

The point I was trying to make, is that when you are quoting someone else's whitefont, and adding your own, it all starts to run together.

It would be nice to be able to have the quoted text indented *and* whitefonted.

Even worse is quoting someone who is weaving in and out of spoiler font.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

You can use the t blockquote tag after an s quickedit. More to type than a combo quickedit, but doable.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Or a t font color=white after a > indent. But I think the point was to not have to.

Yes, that's why I proposed a quickedit, to avoid having to do that and stopping to do t blockquote and t /blockquote every time slows things down.

Isn't that one of the points of quickedits, to cut down on possible HTML mistakes, as well as making for faster posting?

ETA: or what ita said. I had to slow down to add the blockquote tag fakes...

What is even happening?

I think nesting quick edits would be lovely, but problematic. What would be the difference (coding-wise) between the word "it" and an italicized fake tag, or the difference between "bi" and quick edit nesting for bold and italics?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Quickedits need to be one character. It would be adding to the list of quicktags, not changing how they operate, if I read DCJ's request right.

Yes, ita. This is what I meant to convey. It hink I need to more thouroughly flesh out my board suggestions prior to suggesting them. t smiles haplessly

Both ita and I tried to edit this post. I even tried to put the link in a new post. It keeps adding hyphens in the middle of the URL.

Here's the URL in question:

link

t on edit and it did it again here. The two pairs of hyphens and spaces were not in the text I posted.

t on re-edit It's keeps adding them, even to the link referencing the post in Buffy.

Don't worry -- I'm on it. Side effect of Gus's code. I'll yank that bit out.
