iirc, those privacy objections were to giving people access to rl names, addresses, phone numbers, and the like -- nobody ever objected to giving out the information that's already in our profiles.

This is a good line to me. If it's in the profile, we can already access it by clicking on the name. And with a general search function, we could access the profile anyway.

Beyond that, I'd object to anything that goes further than Deena's opt-in project.
