For some reason, all the "read new" "message center" etc links are going to buffistas.org instead of www.buffistas.org today.

Yup. Seems the www is getting dropped on the static navigation stuff which drops the cookie recognition. That's gonna up the number of times pages are loaded, isn't it?

(also should note. Whenever I've gone to just buffistas.org in the past, I'm in guest mode. Minute I change it to www.buffistas.org, I'm auto-logged in and stay that way unless I manually delete the www. Then I'm out.)

Also with the got logged out suddenly and was v. confused.
I didn't know before that in guest mode you can't see user profiles.
Me neither! so my first thought was "weird, did all the profile links disappear? Is something wrong??" and then when I saw no message center link, realized I was logged out. So. Yay for that profile thing! I like it!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.
Go to buffistas.org, and stay there. HR has changed a server side variable (the site used to think it was www.buffistas.org, but HR has changed it to buffistas.org), which means that all the dynamically generated links are different, as are the cookies.
Which means that as soon as I post this (I'm on my work machine), it will log me out.
I'll submit ANOTHER ticket.
