Well, other bands know more than three chords. Your professional bands can play up to six, sometimes seven, completely different chords.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

However, I'm being denied access to ftp.buffistas.org. Can't get into either archives or filk. Any ideas about what's up?

Oh, I bet they lost the security info when they moved servers. I'll go back in and assign passwords.

edit: If you were going in as filk@buffistas.org, just go in as filk now, DX.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I have no embarassment about being considered smart enough to do what ita, DX, and the rest of these folks do. However, it's true, I have not one coding bone in my body.

However, ita has given me the idea to fill my code-free, empty days with plans for the Nora Deirdre fan club

line forms to the left, folks...

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Thanks for the heads-up on the ftp change, ita & DX. I was just able to successfully login to all the places for which I have access.

You sip / say it's your crazy / straw say it's you're crazy / as you bicycle your soul / with beauty in your basket

Hi.

This is just a post to ask, am I going completely crazy, or is there some sort of limit imposed on how many marked posts one can make? I was just looking at my bookmarks page, and I'm only seeing 13 marked posts (all things I had, fairly recently, marked while on a public computer to remind myself to download the images linked to from the post, etc, when at home again). I'm slightly distressed, because I had had bookmarked some posts which were the starts of what I'd considered important or interesting discussions, and I'm kind of looking for a particular line, now, and search.php is down and threadsucking Bitches 3000 posts at a time is *so* not fun on a dialup modem.

Um. Yes. Is there a limit we hadn't been warned about, or did I just delete a bunch of bookmarks in my sleep?

t edit Actually... is it possible that the bookmarks were, rather, somehow scrambled? Because I feel *pretty* sure I never bookmarked this post; yet it is the first one appearing in my bookmarks page.

Rebecca, I lost my bookmarks in the last database crash. Maybe that has something to do with it.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Oh, yeah, look at that. My bookmarks are definitely screwy as well. Frelling hostrocket.

Anyone remember the time TT crashed, and when it came back up, we all had someone else's subscription profile? That was entertaining.

Up with the sun

Mine are missing completely, but I didn't have many to start with.

... any chance anyone remembers about when the Bitches were having that religion discussion?

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Which religion discussion? I can remember a few.

Hi all:

I've been having a look at the Phoenix code that ita sent me. I'll probably start working on MARCIE soon... though I still have a doubt first.

Reading the posts about the subject, I see that Noumenon first proposed a link in the text of the MARCIEd posts, pointing to the relevant part of the FAQ. ita and others opposed it, since it would be distracting and eye-catching. Noumenon proposed then having a big text at the top of the page right after it reloads, warning: "all posts by this user will be blocked until you decide to", etc.. Apparently Nou is really worried that newbies might click on this feature by accident... :-)

My question is: is the above okay with the rest of the people? I thought that a variant of that could be a confirmation screen: "All posts by will be blocked from you until you decide to unblocked them. Are you sure you really want to do it?", like the one we have now to delete a post. Which option do people prefer? Or do you think it's unnecessary?

Also, it was mentioned that there should be a way to see just one particular post that you could be interested in, without unblocking that user. Are people still interested in it?

Speak up now, or be silenced by the (fake) consensus...
