If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

but I do find I'm changing my 'posts-per-page' every day, or two or three times a day.

But you have made me curious. Why do you feel the need to change so often? I changed mine once when we got the option, and I don't forsee ever doing it again, really.

You sip / say it's your crazy / straw say it's you're crazy / as you bicycle your soul / with beauty in your basket

I change my tag sometimes as much as twice a day. I'm flighty and indecisive like that. It all belongs in the Set Profile page.

Well, if it were right there, I might be with Am Chau and changing it all the time--just becuase if I'm caught up on everything, I don't need a high number of posts displayed. But if it's morning, and there's 300 posts in Natter, I want to catch up as quickly as possible. Etc, etc.

But I'm lazy, so I just leave it where it is.

I've got a question about email. I want to change my profile address to the one I've got left over from WX, that's just a dummy foward to my real, university address.

But, unlike TT (and, I think, WX,) this place won't allow you to have one real address and one address just to be shown in the profile. And I'm cool with that, because if I changed it to the dummy address it'd be forwarded to me anyway; but I'm wondering, if, in the hypothetical future, I need to send an admin an email, will something refuse to believe it's me if it comes from the address not listed under my name?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

If you need us to be sure it's you, use the form here. Otherwise, there are a set of tests which infosec says I can't tell you about beforehand.

But bring a towel.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Lizard, we can change your e-mail address if you like. Just let us know what you want it to be. Also, some of us know your real name, so we can always identify you that way if needs be.

edit: or what ita said.

Thank you. I just changed it.

(I'm trying to sever all publicly-available connections from my online name to my professional name. I got a *real* shock when an editor who'd accepted my poems wrote back saying, OK, [realname]; or should I call you Rebecca.... Scary.)

I bop to Wittgenstein. -- Nutty

Why do you feel the need to change so often?

Because I put it up to 200+ to catch up in Natter, down to 3 or 4 to post in a thread I've read but not replied to when I don't want to wait while I download 100s of posts, and back to a reasonable 100 again after that. Because I read the posts in a thread like Literay, decide I have nothing to say, go to catch up in Natter, think of something to say, and would rather change my posts-per-page (which I will soon be referring to as a my PPP), than wait while my slow connection deals with 200 posts I have already read.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

But no matter your PPP, you only get the unread posts in a thread, I think, right?
